Re: Harvard Waitlist 2013
Slightly unrelated...
For those of you who have decided to wait it out on HLS's WL (at least til this point), what do you plan on doing about housing at the school at which you've deposited? (I guess this primarily relates to people who did not opt for university-owned housing, which I imagine you could get out of fairly easily).
Are you signing a lease somewhere, and hoping you can "get out of it" with your landlord if you get tapped by HLS? If it were a matter of losing just a security deposit, I guess I wouldn't be as worried, but if the landlord tries to sue for breach of contract/lease or something like that, that could get hairy.
On the flip side, I've waited to secure housing for this long, and feel like I need to wrap it up now so I don't get screwed in the event that I eventually matriculate where I've already deposited.
What are everyone's thoughts/plans? Thanks!

The crickets are quiet until 11AM. I stand by my previous guess:
Tuesday, June 25th. 11AM.

Maybe everyone is quiet because they're as stressed/frustrated by their housing predicament as me...Aussiebum wrote:*crickets*

@testaker
It probably varies, but I've broken a lease before without problems. You lose your deposit and last month's rent.

I think we were calling them JS1b's. Assuming they are following the same pattern as earlier in the cycle with WL admits, this is a really good sign for you! Congratulations and good luck!!!shakespeare wrote:Sorry. didn't mean to start a riot or disclose my identity...i was just too excited and happened to be at home alone, so OMG! Only if you posted some crazy nonsense elsewhere. My username is basically my real name and it wasn't an issue.shakespeare wrote:Anyone else get a feeler call today?

Seems odd that there would only be one of these reported...wonder if they really only made a couple of calls today.

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2013
Hi all,
Thanks for the pre-emptive (hopefully warranted!!) PM congrats!
I will most definitely post up my stats tomorrow IF I GET IN. IF IF IF IF IF.
Also, just not i am NOT URM. I am a M, but i did not check it on my application, it's not visible from my name and from my appearance (i.e., during Skype interviews). So, i don't really think it accounted to much.
Sorry, i don't think this is the URM wave we all thought would happen :/

Writes on TLS before checking voicemail? Really? (Besides, why would you write to TLS to find HLS admissions number and not just google it?)
Says 495 when other confirmed admit says 496 called him?
Only one today.
Smells fishy.

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2013
J(ello) S(hots) 2 (everyone, on me)!!!!
I'm on my way to work everyone, but 2 things to note:
1) they are on a tighter schedule now. I should only be able to get 24 hours to decide. My guess is turnover time is quick. Grab it while you can.
2) I got a 165 on my LSAT, but slightly below a 4.0 GPA. I'm NOT a URM. Much int'l work, including starting several projects in four different countries, 4-5 different major languages (and very different ones, too), top 25 undergrad, no masters/grad experience, 1+ WE. Worked in war/conflict (read: VERY violent) areas for over a year.
Good luck everyone!
