Tweets by Johann, how you tease. I wonder if Ms. Gapasin has taken over waitlist admits anyway?
I'm still hoping for movement today. Fingers crossed.

I can't tell but are you saying that you may have opened a spot up this week or did it happen in the middle of June?uconjak wrote:GOt accepted a month ago off the waitlist....w/45k scholly. said thanks, but no thanks. Re: Northwestern Waitlisted c/o 2016
Today marks 1 week since the last LOCI was due. I wonder how many turned one in/ how many have been accepted since then, if any?
I don't know why they can't just say- "Looks like 10 of our admitted students haven't sent in all their required documents, deposits, etc. 5 of those 10 may not show/drop/withdraw. Lets just accept 5 off the waitlist and be done with admitting people as of now."
Instead, seems like they are admitting 1 for 1. Who knows really, that's just my guess...
Has anyone heard anything?

Wow. During orientation? That would be hard. Financially mostly.snapdragon25 wrote:In case anyone isn't following Johann on twitter, he posted this update:

I can't believe some people double deposited and have still not told one of the schools. That's rough, all around.
Thanks for the update snapdragon!

Honestly, I'm pretty surprised that they could still admit up to 10 of us. Does that number seem high to anyone else?

I think if they did, this waitlist drama would be over. Instead they are still " soliciting responses from deposit paids that have yet to make a firm commitment to attend".Clearly wrote:Trust me, they know who double deposited at this pointLetzgo1Gen wrote:Wow. I think that Clearly meant that the admissions team is smart enough to realize that anyone who is holding out while also having placed a deposit is probably not deciding on just Northwestern.Letzgo1Gen wrote:I think if they did, this waitlist drama would be over. And to answer the previous question, I don't think NU is going to take 10 people. That's the max they could grab and I don't see why some of those people who are deciding between NU and another place wouldn't end up in chicago. I keep telling myself that it will probably be between 4 and 8. The big question is, how many of us are left? I wish we could figure it out...

Re: Northwestern Waitlisted c/o 2016
They know, by name, who is deposited at multiple schools. There is no drama... these people deposited, it's messed up to string nu out this far without a commitment, but it's not like nu is going to pull them from the class, that's the point of the deposit.Letzgo1Gen wrote:I think if they did, this waitlist drama would be over. Well well well...this is a painful episode of my life.
I'll be happy when Friday finally comes around and I can focus on next year's cycle. I was really hoping we'd have at least some TLSer giving us an update on Monday or Tuesday about receiving admission.
