Waitlisted at TEXAS c/o 2016
The WL pool doesn't seem too big this year, but I understand that UT has a history of pulling a lot of people off of it following the deposit deadline (4/15). Anyone planning on holding out for quite a while?

I'm hanging on! But I hear a lot of people don't find out until Julyish. Don't know if I can wait that long.

Oh, that sounds like a miserably long time.TEXAS91 wrote:I'm hanging on! But I hear a lot of people don't find out until Julyish.

Re: Waitlisted at TEXAS c/o 2016
Perhaps. But I attribute that to be the decrease in apps this year. I know they have to pull in 300+ people this fall, so I am optimistic.rabbitrun wrote:Holding onto the dream. I'm assuming they won't pull from the WL as much as they did last year because they already started admitting people who would have been WLed last year.

Not certain. Does anyone know if it's considered inappropriate to ask how many people are on the WL each year?bethanyrose09 wrote:Likewise, I am WL at UT Law. How many people are usually WL each year? Does anyone know how many are WL this year?

I really think you have a good shot!!! If you're willing to wait there's a great chance you'll get off the list. Plus, UT needs well rounded people...bethanyrose09 wrote:Likewise, I am WL at UT Law. How many people are usually WL each year? Does anyone know how many are WL this year?
I'm pretty cynical about my chances of getting in simply because of my LSAT score, but I want to know other people's thoughts on my stats. I am a Texas resident, 162 LSAT, 3.85 UGPA, and attended a random liberal arts college in new york city. I have good softs and good letters of rec.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Waitlisted at TEXAS c/o 2016
They are protecting that LSAT median more than the GPA median.
But on the bright side (if you are a Texan), if they accidentally dip below the 65% texas admits rule, then they have to get some of the Texans off the WL.

oh... didn't know UT's LSAT median was that high only two years agorabbitrun wrote: If you calculate the medians of admits they are 169 3.71. I think they are trying to get back to the 169 median of 2 years ago.

Re: Waitlisted at TEXAS c/o 2016
No WAY they are going back up to 169. They are fighting to keep that 167 by buying 168+s with larger than usual scholarships (but still not as generous as other schools similarly ranked are being this year, so I'm not sure it will work unless they start negotiating)RetakeFrenzy wrote:oh... didn't know UT's LSAT median was that high only two years agorabbitrun wrote: If you calculate the medians of admits they are 169 3.71. Re: Waitlisted at TEXAS c/o 2016
Virtually all the WL emails say that but with this year's historic decrease in apps, HOPEFULLY they will make a heavy use of WL.bethanyrose09 wrote:In the initial WL email UT sent out, they said that they don't always dip into their waitlists. That's what I'm scared of. I don't know how many students they generally accept either, and how many of those students withdraw.

I really would like clear stats on this because I keep hearing that it is a rare occasion when UT does not activate the WL.bethanyrose09 wrote:In the initial WL email UT sent out, they said that they don't always dip into their waitlists. For the 11-12 cycle, eleven people on the WL were pulled in, according to LSN. In 10-11, I counted two.

A lot of people don't post on LSN so I wouldn't make any inferences based off of LSN

True, but I think it is acceptable to make a few predictions gleaned from information that is available.TEXAS91 wrote:A lot of people don't post on LSN...
Does anyone know how we will know (if at all) when the WL is activated?

Got the waitlist email in early March. Will definitely be holding out for this. Anyone else go in for an interview?

Yeeep. I would venture to guess that most WLs did.table3 wrote:Anyone else go in for an interview?
