I, too, received the rather optimistic note on Friday, with my status modified accordingly (w/USA and address fields completed). The message stated that I was guaranteed an update by today, but I have yet to hear back. This wait is agonizing! FYI, my status date reads 5/3 (what it was updated to on Friday), not 5/6. I am attempting to remain hopeful though.

Anyone else reporting similar circumstances? Perhaps updates/acceptances are being sent out in batches... Not entirely sure how this is unfolding at the Admissions office. Rather confused.

Just received this email:

Dear blueruditio,

We have now had a chance to sort out our responses from the email we sent out on Friday. At the same time, we have been monitoring any new deposits that have arrived since then. As of today, the class is full, and we don’t anticipate making any new decisions for the next couple of weeks. As we mentioned earlier though, you are right at the top of the list of people we will turn to if space is available.

We, of course, know that you may need to make other contingency plans and will do our best to let you know if there is any news or updates.

Thank you so much for your patience and your interest in Georgetown.

As of today, the class is full, and we don’t anticipate making any new decisions for the next couple of weeks. As we mentioned earlier though, you are right at the top of the list of people we will turn to if space is available.

We, of course, know that you may need to make other contingency plans and will do our best to let you know if there is any news or updates.

Was this email just for people on SPWL / PWL, or did any regular WL people get it?

I just received the update message and am fairly outraged. The initial email on Friday was so promissory, and I really had faith in the process. Why did they even bother to get our hopes up on Friday only to essentially keep us on the waiting list?

I would rather have simply not gotten the first message from the outset...

It's one thing to place people on a waiting list and send updates; but it's quite another to place people on a waiting list, butter them up with the prospect of admission, and then inform them that nothing has changed. Absolutely absurd.

Any other SPWL's not receive the email from friday or any update since the initial inquiry two weeks ago? I'm confused as to how they decide to reach out to applicants. What's the point of being designated into a "special group" on the PWL if you are going to get passed over. I sent two loci's, visited the school, and talked to admissions in person...

anyone else on the regular waitlist and not receive any of these messages?? i'm not sure if it's because I never responded after the initial email on april 23, but thats just because I literally sent my 3rd LOCI the day before so I thought it would be okay/they would see I was still interested? should I email them again now saying I am still interested?

Who in their right mind decided to have a three tier waitlist system in which some ppl were seen as regular, some preferred and others special preferred ?

Who then decided to to openly share the atrocious names of the same?

The absence of both grace and tact of the admissions department is outstanding

Nope, I haven't gotten anything either.

I haven't received ANY communication from them since I was waitlisted at some point in January...not normal.
