You forgot to mention the cancer inducing water, the dominance of 7-11 in the gas station market, and Bricktown in OKC (for those that dare to risk their dignity)

The fact that Tulsa gets the greatness of QuikTrip and we're stuck with 7-11 is a traveshamockery.

But she did say that it was flexible, if need be. I'm hoping to do the JD/MPH program and haven't heard from the PubH school yet, so I asked for an extension. I have a feeling they'd be willing to extend your decision date if you just gave them a call to explain that while you're still very interested in OU, you just haven't made your decision yet.

also, I'm new to this thread and would be new to OU....in fact I've never been to Oklahoma. What would I be in for? (seems like a lotta mexican food, which I'm more than okay with)

1) Food (Mexican food, Barbecue, Bobo's chicken, chicken fried steak, Indian tacos, etc.)
2) Weather from Hell (tornadoes, hail, wind, ice storms, thunder storms, thunder ice storms, earthquakes, microbursts, ridiculous temperature fluctuations, droughts, flash floods, wildfires)
3) The OKC Thunder will somehow pop up in every conversation
4) A surprising music and arts scene
5) The Tea Party
6) Low cost of living
7) Megachurches
8 ) Football
9) Traffic on Lindsey during the school year
10) Lots of outdoorsy things to do whenever it's not 110 degrees outside
11) Bad sports talk radio
12) Vast tracts of land

Basically just start reading thelostogle.com, dailythunder.com, and oklahomarock.com/blog. You'll be an Oklahoman in no time. Wannabe, PC, Patrick, what am I forgetting?

Bad sports radio? You mean you don't like listening to Al and Traber? Hahahaha

Okie: Thank God for podcasts and the 1310 The Ticket livestream app. My brain can't handle more than 30 seconds of Al and Traber.

Wannabe: No WUSTL? Even after you single-handedly bumped them back into the top 20 with their c/o 2016 thread? :o

On the bright side, you can buy a four-bedroom house in Broken Bow for three horses and a ham sandwich.

Excellent, relevant and weighty counterpoint.

I'm late on this LMS and ptack, but yes yes yes to the music and arts scene. This is one of the main reasons I love Norman.

Tailgating. Also, it's the nicest people you'll ever meet. I love the fact that I never have to get tired of cold, hot, or rainy weather. Local restaurants. Local bands. Lots of Norman community events. It's the perfect mixture of hippies and the oil and gas industry.

I just convinced myself never to leave Norman.

Also, I don't ever go, but, casinos.

I forgot tailgating and casinos? I fail at Oklahoma-ing.

Norman has been a pretty great place to spend four years. If I had to stay in Oklahoma, Norman would be an easy choice. It's tough to beat the restaurants and arts here.

Flips: I ran into Al at Othello's this weekend. Little dude pops up everywhere, it seems.

I'm thinking about planning an Oklahoma meet up soon. And by Oklahoma, I mean you, me, and wannabe. And I guess whoever wants to join. Can we?

Sounds great to me. I'll be out of town the 12th-15th and 19th-22nd for some ASWs, but any other weekend would be perfect.

Big as Yo Face Burrito, Ground Sirloin, and (this is absolutely vital) Boom-Boom sauce on the top.
