I'd rather be a splitter than a reverse splitter. Both in life and as a law school applicant.

A reverse splitter is usually just someone who hasn't retaken. Read into that what you will.

You're not a "reverse splitter" until you've taken the LSAT three times. Before that, you're just somebody who isn't maximizing their opportunities.

I don't get reverse splitters. I still think about retaking.

I've never heard of anyone getting into UCLA with a GPA anywhere near that low. Are you a URM? Super softs?

If you're not a URM you're seriously one BAMF for pulling in UCLA with such a low sub3 gpa.. congrats on LA and the scholly.

Not a URM. I really spent a long, long time on writing my addendum though to explain my GPA, which was due to personal issues. I would say above average recs and normal softs (work exp, volunteering, student clubs, study abroad, etc). On LSN there have only been two other sub-3ers over the past five years so I am very grateful to have this outcome.

Guess it's my turn to let future splitters know how my cycle turned out. 168/3.28 here. 168 was on the 3rd take, previous two were 167 and 165; the multiple takes didn't seem to affect my cycle, nor did my late application (late January).

As "predicted" by LSP

DENY
Georgetown- Accepted (45k)
Cornell- Waitlist
Vanderbilt- Waitlist

WEAK CONSIDER
UCLA- Waitlist

CONSIDER
Minnesota- Accepted (75k)
George Washington- Accepted (96k)
WUSTL- Accepted (75k)
Emory- Accepted (78k)
BC- Waitlist
BU- Waitlist
Fordham- Accepted (45k)
William & Mary- Accepted (70k)

STRONG CONSIDER
Cardozo- Accepted (105k)

ADMIT
American University- Waitlist
Brooklyn- Accepted (123k)

Heading to GULC, very excited!

Probably (95%) Vandy, but I'm putting some thought into Cornell this weekend. Not sure I can personally justify sticker, but it's an incredible school.

Final update for me:

2.25/167

George Washington, Part-Time - WL, Admitted (28k)
Emory - WL, Admitted (60k)
Alabama - Admitted (78k)
Georgia - Admitted (9k)
William and Mary - WL, Withdrew
Georgia State, Part-Time - Admitted

I couldn't be any happier with this cycle, although, I applied to GW and Emory as my "reach schools", and now I'm thinking I should've reached a little higher, like Georgetown.

Congrats. Im guessing you'll be working part time at GW so you should be able to keep COL down. Good result for that GPA.

Thanks, but I'm actually going to Georgia State for financial reasons that have unexpectedly come up. I wish GW were in the cards for me, but recent events have taken all the other options off the table.
