Not really shocking. Splitters gonna split. Well NYU is surprising, but they didn't like me either. MVP is a crapshoot.Clearlynotstefan wrote:Seriously!? Late apps? Really bad application? 168/3.0 (applied in late January)
In- GULC, UCLA, WUSTL, Emory, BU, BC, NEU, and Suffolk
WL- Penn
Rejected- UCB, UT and the big H
I'm decently happy considering I underscored my PT average by 7 points.

Absolutely! Already sent the optional 2 page essay and additional LOR from a Penn grad that I've been working on a project with. Moving forward with GULC in the meantime.
Where are you headed?

Are we cool with "reverse" splitters here? I'd start a separate thread but I feel like there are a lot fewer of us and I don't want to spam :p (and the cycle is mostly over lol)

Way to be a jerk. Because all people can retake or want to or are capable of scoring higher or scoring a number you find acceptable... Because all people who are not going to the T14 are people who shouldn't even bother becoming lawyers...slack_academic wrote:nah, a reverse splitter is just someone who should retake.Allie wrote:Are we cool with "reverse" splitters here?

The vast majority of people who claim they "can't" retake have no legitimate reasons for such a claim. Considering the present cost of legal education, why wouldn't you retake when it could mean hundreds of thousands of dollars?subtle wrote:Way to be a jerk. Communicate now with those who not only know what a legal education is, but can offer you worthy advice and commentary as you complete the three most educational, yet challenging years of your law related post graduate life.

And it's up to you to tell them this bit of information that they have never, ever heard before and decided against for whatever reason because since this is going to affect the rest of your life you should have a say.slack_academic wrote:Exactly this. This thread is for splitters. Our GPAs are set in stone. Unlike so-called "reverse splitters," there's nothing we can do to change our comparatively weak number. Reverse splitters can retake and change their situations.Crowing wrote:The vast majority of people who claim they "can't" retake have no legitimate reasons for such a claim. Applied in november, softs are weak to non-existent and my uGPA was 3.3. If it weren't for Chicago, I'd be pretty upset with my cycle, but as is, I'm extremely happy with the outcome. FWIW, I'll be attending Chicago.
