Yeah, I'm sure the stips are meant to promote competition. However, I would be willing to bet that the 10% that loses it probably doesn't work as hard as the other 40%. I guess my point is, how much of it is their fault if you find yourself outside of that bracket? I know law school is supposed to be hard and unpredictable going in, but isn't it ultimately a matter of how well YOU adapt to it? Also-- I don't think a connection exists between stipulation and employment in SJU's case. Has anyone seen the 2011 ABA employment stats? They're extremely comparable with BLS and Cardozo and those schools both have much more relaxed stips. Sorry if I'm running this subject into the gorund, just trying to make my decision as objectively as possible.[/quote]

As far as job prospects, how comparable are SJU and BLS? Does BLS have any real edge when it comes down to it?

For 2011, It doesn't seem like it to me unless there's something I'm missing. According to LST, Brooklyn has an employment score of 47% while St. Johns is about 46.something%. Also seems to break down pretty similarly in the ABA employment stats.

Also-- Anyone else attempting to ask for an extension? April 1 is pretty much here and I don't feel like I am anywhere close to making a decision! It also seems a little sheisty(sp?) on their part to request a $750 non refundable seat deposit since its more than double what other schools are asking for...has that crossed anyone else's mind or am I just cheap? haha

I was in with a fully scholarship-- withdrew today due to 40% stipulation and better offers from other schools. Hope this opens up some money for all of you.

submitted my deposit, and got a scholarship increase today. I am still waiting on two more schools, but I am more than likely going to St. John's (my chances aren't looking good for the other schools)

I'm from Long Island, but I'll most likely be moving into Queens to avoid the daily commute

True the commute isn't great, but the school id right off the LIE. Also, I don't think I'd be able to afford the rent in Queens lol. I would love to be there though.

Also submitted my deposit! I want to start researching living arrangements soon, but they haven't started circulating a list of people looking yet.

Was the deposit deadline March 5th for everyone or was that scholarship students only?

Oh ok, thanks! I wasn't sure if they broke it up based on the type of scholarship offered or something along those lines so that they could redistribute money.

I live right down the block from St Johns if anyone has any questions. Commuting will suck in the morning pretty much in any direction you come from. You will sit in traffic, it's NYC.

Anyway, I was just Waitlisted.
