I was wondering where this thread was.

I went complete on Dec. 10th and just submitted two additional essays in support of my application that were requested a few days ago.

Judging from the acceptances on LSN, I feel relatively confident, but my impressively low GPA makes everything a bit iffy. If I'm lucky enough for these essays to be in consideration for a significant scholarship, that would be amazing.

I've got loads of family in Cincinnati and a full ride would jump UC right up there with a few of the higher ranked acceptances I've received.

Best of luck to you all!

LSAC says all my stuff got sent out Dec 1. But I still haven't gotten any notification from UC that they've received anything. I've already gotten into two schools that I applied to on a later date! (W&M/UMiami) Is this normal or should I call admissions and check?

I was worried about the same thing. I sent an email to UC's admissions office informing them of my concern and they advised me that my application went complete on December 14th, but I won't receive any information regarding my application status until it has reached final review, where I will then be informed by email.

I was in the same spot as you and was waiting for an email about an online status check or something about my application, but I am just assuming their admissions committee works differently than most schools... which sucks.

You said you had your application sent out to UMiami on December 1st and already heard back from them? I sent my application out to Miami on December 7th and still haven't heard anything back from them. I am concerned =/

They will email you everything including your status. They emailed me to request additional information and sent me an email telling me I was admitted 2 weeks later. 159 LSAT 3.3 GPA

So I finally uncovered what had happened to my mysterious vanishing application at UC...
While most schools ask what other schools you are applying to this cycle, UC is somewhat unique in that it asks what/if any schools you are applying ED/EA/Etc. I marked down, as I'm sure many others did, a school that I was applying early decision to (I ended up not even applying ED there). When I called UC to inquire about the status of my application, they informed me that any application that stated that they were applying ED elsewhere would not be placed under review "until the early decision cycle was complete" (i.e mid-janaury).

Well I was able to move my application to review with the phone call, but was quite upset at this decision by UC. If I wanted to wait to have my application at UC reviewed until after my ED app was rejected or accepted, then I would have saved the $60 to apply and sent in my application right now. What is most unfortunate is that students who were diligent and applied early in the cycle are being punished for their honesty and in the process being passed up for acceptance and scholarship opportunities.

I have to be honest, this has left a bad taste in my mouth concerning UC. Hopefully I hear from them shortly. They have already hurt themselves substantially as I have received 3 offers (with $$$) to schools that typically take longer than UC to respond.

I just got the same email. That's awesome! Congratulations!

I am very excited about this acceptance. I doubt I will get $$$ but maybe I can ask for in-state tuition since I went to college in Ohio? I hope! :D

Also admitted via email today. Now the real waiting game starts; I can't wait to see if there's an offer and for how much. I can't do it at something near sticker, but free school around my family in Ohio would be a very nice option.

Also: everyone get that email regarding the Graduate Metropolitan Rate where they offer 24k tuition if you live in Northern Kentucky? I don't really want to drive to class, but for 17k/year, who wouldn't live across the bridge? I suppose this means you'll not qualify for Ohio residency for years two and three, which means you're stuck in N. KY for all three years if you want the discount?

Either way, I'm excited to be accepted and congrats to others accepted today!

Alas, no. I grew up in California but the majority of my family hails from Ohio, I've just never lived there myself (though I visit about once a year). Thanks for the suggestion though and I'm sure some other reader's will be interested in the info.

Yeah it took them a couple of weeks to send me an email informing me that my app went complete. Then this past Friday out of the blue I received an email saying I was admitted and that I should be expecting a packet in the mail soon. They aren't up to date with their admissions, but it was very thrilling to randomly get an acceptance email from them, not gonna lie.

Has anyone here received their packet yet with scholarship money? Is it in the body of the mailed letter? I really don't mean to sound entitled at all, but I was thinking this would be one of my best offers and there's absolutely nothing mentioned other than the availability of their Graduate Metro Rate for students who move to Kentucky. Considering I've got loads of family that went there and completed two additional essays (while being in a range that lawschoolnumbers.com would say is a pretty safe admit) and really had gotten my hopes up that this was going to be the most generous of my offers so far. I hope I'm wrong and the information comes separately, and I know I can try and negotiate even if I haven't been offered something yet, but if not, this one hurts!

Thanks in advance for any input, and most importantly, best of luck to those still waiting!

I received my scholarship offer in the mail today, two weeks after being accepted (via e-mail) and one week after receiving my acceptance materials in the mail.

The scholarship is as follows:
L1: $10,000
L2: $8,500
L3: $8,500

I'm in state, as such this offer makes my three years cheaper than one year at most schools (if you were daft enough to pay sticker)

The scholarship also come with a 2.0 GPA stipulation. The mailer said over the last 5 years, all students have renewed their scholarship after their L1. On a 3.0/B curve you'd have to be well below the bottom 40% to miss the stipulation, which would probably mean you weren't getting a law job any time soon anyway.

The letter also came with a nice hand-written note acknowledging my "legacy status" (FRAT) at UC Law.

After a rocky start with UC they've brought me back into the fold with this offer. Unfortunately, now they are competing with higher ranked schools in warmer climates. I'll have to wait and see how the Reds are looking in Spring Training before making a decision.

Congratulations on the $$ offer. Mind sharing your numbers?

159 & 3.99
As far as softs and PS go...meh. I liked my PS but I didn't beat cancer or anything.
Again, I was pretty happy with this offer. I think it would take a full ride to consider UC so I will see if they are willing to negotiate. At this point, even though it's more expensive, I would attend UF or W&M over UC.

For what it's worth and for those of you unfamiliar with the area, the city of Cincinnati has undergone some serious changes over the last decade. "The Banks" has turned the river into a young and vibrant part of town sandwiched between the stadiums. The city has really cleaned up Over the Rhine and expanded the affluent area that surrounds fountain square. It will never be Chicago or NY but for a small city it has its perks and is definitely a more attractive option than Columbus or *Gulp* Cleveland.

Just received $ information in the mail about a week after wing accepted.

1L: 7,500
2L: 6,000
3L: 6,000

This $ on top of the GMR rate of tuition which I would take part in, makes this pretty affordable, considering my stats. And I might be mistaken, but I believe UC does well in regards to employment stats, which is definitely another plus. Oh, and the median 1L GPA is a 3.0. The scholarship stipulation is maintaining a 2.0
