Long time lurker here. My status went from held to complete today as well. Getting more and more nervous by the hour. Any predictions on when we'll start hearing back? Today? The 5th?

Could be any time now, but I'm betting Friday.

After mine went to completed, it took about two weeks then I received a call on a Friday around three pm cst (which is three pm for SMU). It went immediately to accepted and never reached a decision made status.

I'm afraid I went full potato after seeing a sudden change this morning. I'm going to sit back down and continue to wait it out a few more weeks.

I usually only check once a day around 4:00 but ever since the change I've been checking feverishly.

Haha I've had days when I have self-control and I only check once. Other days, like today I check more than I should admit.

3/25 Completed but I'm pretty sure it went to that completed after a 3/18 completed. I'm not sure if that's when they got the physical copy of my application or if that's when a decision was reached.

I can't remember, but was the 'Why SMU?' essay option or required?

It was required . . . wish at this point I made mine a lot longer than a paragraph wish they said they wanted.

It was required . . . wish at this point I made mine a lot longer than a paragraph wish they said they wanted.

Mine was an entire page I believe. I included personal reasons including the location of my family and fiancee as well as some information as to their success in job placement, bar passing rates, and other school related information.

If you have nothing to add to your application, maybe a LOCI with another paragraph of why smu to add on to your previous one?

I'm thinking about it, still waiting to see if a decision is sent by the 5th like someone mentioned earlier. I mostly mentioned their success for job placement and great faculty, yet I'm out of state so it made the why you want to live in Dallas a little more difficult. I mentioned I had made many great friends from there while abroad and loved the city while I visited when I returned to the States, but I feel they would much rather prefer Texas natives who grew up around the area.

I wrote a page...one paragraph about family &ties to dallas (which are pretty significant, undergrad, work and spouse who is from here)...but the main points i made were about the school itself....faculty, facilities,curriculum (info you can find from the website) good luck.

Mine was the other way around. A paragraph about the school itself, then the rest was family oriented. I basically told them that they are my only choice. I gave them all the leverage, but it's true. Family health issues are keeping here. If it's not happening at SMU, then it's not happening at all.

Application completed today. Wondering if it's a waitlist, since that is what everyone has been getting over the past week. I guess it could always be worse than that too :/
