Accepted in January. Also received a full ride there. I also recently visited this past week. Tucson is a nice little town and the faculty at U of A were super nice.

Congratulations for getting that far! I (still kicking myself over it) applied late, and my status has been "Application Complete" ever since. Worse: I called them for some legitimate question that I can't remember and they told me not to worry that they would admit me, but didn't have any idea when. ?!?bne wrote:How long was everyone in Committee Review? I am now returning to being patient and only checking the status checker twice a day.
I LOVE Tucson and my "grown" daughter lives there. These other seat deposits are killing me, but I can't turn down offers just because of what one person told me on the phone over a month and a half ago.

After you make a couple trips, it's really not that far from Phoenix. You'd get used to it.nickb285 wrote:Just visited today. Seems way the hell out there (especially if I were to get a summer job in Phoenix) but the staff are all pretty awesome. It's a very small, intimate-feeling school environment. I don't know if it's where I'll end up, but it's definitely got some appeal.

Absolutely. I used to make the trip for Star Trek conventions and the like. Awww...I hope they pick me.gaud wrote:After you make a couple trips, it's really not that far from Phoenix. You'd get used to it.

Got a letter today from the Athletic Director, I only skimmed it but I assume they wanted me to play basketball for them (at least that's a more realistic option than the "Sports Law Program" they were touting). In all seriousness UA is a great school, but unfortunately the $cholar$hip money just wasn't enough for me. I hope my spot goes to one of you.
Also, now that I'm not enrolling...FUCK Jan Brewer.

Arizona 2L here… let me know if you guys have any specific questions about the campus or the city of Tucson as you are making your final decisions.
For reference, I earned my B.A. from ASU. I lived and worked in Phoenix prior to moving to Tucson for law school. By now, I've got a decent handle on the difference between the two cities (and schools).

Perfect, this is what I needed. Where can I live in town that won't result in me getting eaten alive by cockroaches or killed? Every place on find online always makes it sound like the shadiest spot in town. I'm all the way in Michigan and probably won't be in town until orientation so I'm trying to find all of the information I canColomboHeat wrote:Arizona 2L here… let me know if you guys have any specific questions about the campus or the city of Tucson as you are making your final decisions.

^ Same and I guess it will be sent in the mail? Is this a good thing or are they rejecting and accepting people both through snail mail?

Re: Arizona c/o 2016
Acceptances are through snail mail too. Normally decisions this late for any school aren't good news, but today was their deposit deadline so they may have been holding off any more acceptances until they saw deposit numbers. Good luck!brewcrew7000 wrote:^ Same and I guess it will be sent in the mail? Is this a good thing or are they rejecting and accepting people both through snail mail?

Except when anything happens on the I-10. A small accident can make a 1 1/2 trip a 3-4 hour trip. My brother just moved there and he was coming up for something and there was a hazard spill it took them 7 HOURS! They couldn't turn around etc etc. Thats the worst thing about that trip.

Not yet. Did you? I think it took about 10 days for the previous posters in this thread to get their notifications either way. The admissions office might send them through their office distro system before getting into the outside world. I'd hate to wait for anything that was mailed out from the school I work at because that's how we do it.brewcrew7000 wrote:Pruufreadr did you get your decision in the mail yet?

Got my letter today, waitlisted. Does anyone know if they offer need-based aid off the wl?

Nope, still waiting
I'm hoping we get some type of notification tomorrow, or at least some time before seat deposits are due for other schools. I'd love to save a few hundred bucks if possible.

Probably not as you'll put in about 4 hours a day in the car, there are some areas in between that wouldn't be bad for the commuting both ways, mainly red Rock or casa grandetow13 wrote:Anyone know if I could commute from Phoenix?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
