I noticed the first deposit and second deposit pop up under fees today. I've been complete for a bit. Does anybody without a decision have this or does this mean I might be in?

Unfortunately not, those are just standard boxes. The one that matters is application and decision status on the top-right of the page.Acronin689 wrote:I noticed the first deposit and second deposit pop up under fees today. Does anyone know when they're releasing scholarship info?

I know they sent some out in late December, but I think it's all rolling so you should see something in a few weeks.nmlf16 wrote:Does anyone know when they're releasing scholarship info?

Got my scholarship letter in the mail today. They offered me 13k/year. Has anyone else gotten an offer yet?

Got an email today asking if i was still interested in maine before they considered me for scholarships. could this be some yield protection? my numbers arent spectacular: 3.17 162.

No idea. The only thing I know for sure is that the school has very little aid to dish out--you can thank our illustrious Governor for that. I'm guessing it's just to make things easier if you are likely to withdraw anyway.cultband wrote:Got an email today asking if i was still interested in maine before they considered me for scholarships. could this be some yield protection? my numbers arent spectacular: 3.17 162.

3.91/162. I also met with the Admissions Director a few weeks ago when I visited if that makes any difference.

That's unfortunate I'd like to attend Maine... but when I'd be somewhere between an extra 30-60k in debt compared to high ranked schools then it just doesn't make sense for me to take the risk.moxiewhoopiepie wrote:No idea. All depends on where you want to end up. If you don't want to stay in Maine then I completely agree with you. But if you think you'd like Portland enough to stay then you can't do much better--but I'm sure you've heard that before.nmlf16 wrote:That's unfortunate I'd like to attend Maine... but when I'd be somewhere between an extra 30-60k in debt compared to high ranked schools then it just doesn't make sense for me to take the risk.moxiewhoopiepie wrote:No idea. I think I would like Portland/Maine. But 120k debt with only a 40% Bar Passage employment rate according to LST makes me pause when I have better offers from other schools.moxiewhoopiepie wrote:All depends on where you want to end up. I'm sending in my seat deposit today, y'all. Got my LSAT up to 166 (to balance out my 2.8 GPA) and my aid offer went from 8k to 12k. At just over 10k a year (in-state) and low COL expenses, I think it's a pretty sweet deal. I had to work and missed ASD, but would love to meet up with future classmates in town sometime, if anyone else is as anxious as I am to start making friends

i'm about 95% sure that i'll be going to maine for pretty similar reason as you.

Maine gets a lot of hate on TLS, but I think it's a good route if one can keep COA down and isn't dead-set on law as an avenue to megabucks, fame, etc. I love living in Maine, have good non-profit connections here, and Maine Law has unparalleled access to government internships because, uh, it's the ONLY law school in the state. Seems like a winning formula to me.cultband wrote: i'm about 95% sure that i'll be going to maine for pretty similar reason as you.
