Checking in. Tough to know exactly what's going on there without a status checker. But I applied 11/1, got an email 11/7 saying my application had been received. Haven't received anything since -- I assume I went complete since then at some point? I may reach out in the coming days via email just to ensure everything is good to go.

I was wondering the same thing, glad to hear I'm not the only one in that position!patricksouthern wrote:Checking in. Tough to know exactly what's going on there without a status checker. I just got my call. I didn't answer and then the dean texted me and said he's sorry he missed me and would call back. I suppose the dean isn't the one to be the bearer of bad news, right?

For those that have received phone calls, do they give scholarship info over the phone? I've noticed a couple of applicants on LSN have already posted scholly info, although they were 170+ applicants.

They said scholarship information would come in January but did say they expected "$20,000 or maybe even more".

I got my call from the dean last night. My stats are 162/3.92 and she said they'll be getting my acceptance packet out to me in a couple of weeks. She said she expected me to get "substantial financial aid". Not 100% clear that the finaid will come with my acceptance packet. Hope this helps!seancris wrote:For those that have received phone calls, do they give scholarship info over the phone? Got a call from admissions a few minutes ago. Very friendly phone call, they informed me that they are changing their policy on reinbursement for travel expenses. They are going to reimburse my travel exp. to visit the school even if i choose not to enroll. Awesome.

Let me know if you have questions about Richmond. It's a really fun town, but UR is in a pretty sleepy area. You'll want to check out nearby Carytown, the Fan, downtown, etc. to get to know where you'd be living.paranoia4ya wrote:Got a call from admissions a few minutes ago. Unfortunately missed a call from the Dean tonight. Assuming it's a "congrats, you're in" call? She said she'd call back another time.
Great to hear about getting some reimbursement for travel expenses. Will definitely visit in that case.

Received a call from Dean Rahman congratulating me on my acceptance. It was my first decision, positive or otherwise, and I'm pretty sure I was unimpressively stammery when speaking with her.
As others mentioned, she reminded me about the stipend available for campus visits and let me know that financial aid information would be available in January.
I'm crazy about U of R, have family in Virginia, would love to work in D.C. following school, so this would be a very top choice for me if the financial aid is right. I can't wait to visit, I love Richmond but have never been on campus. Best of luck to those waiting and for those whom the information is useful, my stats are as follows:
165/under 2.5(+what I think is a reasonable addendum)/strong undergraduate/non-trad./non-URM

Got the admit call tonight. Dean Rahman seems like a very nice, personable lady. Said I would get significant scholarship money and suggested applying for more. Plus mentioned the stipend.
She also said that scholarship info should ship in the third week of Jan.

I got my call on 11/16 and was also offered the "$20,000 or more" deal I too was SO excited on the phone and then went to visit the school where I got to meet Dean Rahman and again was overly excited She is very kind and personable-even gave me a hug when I left. This was my first (and really only because of my job/living situation) choice and I am SO excited to go! Btw GPA 3.2/LSAT 162 with work experience/very strong softs (internship with Senator Warner, Division 1 athlete, President of lobbying group, etc.) So excited to meet everyone!

Re: University of Richmond c/o 2016
Has anyone heard an update about the visitation stipend program? I emailed Richmond about the details on December 5th, and they said the program is being updated and details should be available "in the next week or so." Anybody have more current info? Flights to Richmond seem to be quite affordable right now!

Admitted via phone call today 12/16 (a Sunday). I had a lovely conversation where I was offered admission and was told that I would likely receive a scholarship offer when those are released in early February.

So they're saying February now for scholarship info? Dean Rahman had told me mid-January when I got my call

To be honest it could have been mid January early February. I was in my car when she called and didn't have the best reception.tony2167 wrote:So they're saying February now for scholarship info? Dean Rahman had told me mid-January when I got my call

The Dean told me it would be the "third week in January."

How do you know when your application has gone complete to Richmond, do they send email confirmation at all? Does the Dean's Certification have to be completed and on file before they will begin to evaluate the application?
Thanks
Thanks

I simply got a phone call shortly after applying (within 2 weeks). I'm still trying to get all the certifications to them now (had 4 UG schools).topher44 wrote:How do you know when your application has gone complete to Richmond, do they send email confirmation at all? Re: University of Richmond c/o 2016
I was accepted without having my dean certificates in. My acceptance package simply says I must submit them if and when I accept their offer (which I will most likely be turning down).
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
