Excited for the Richmond swag. The countless mail and packages makes me wonder what they give out during ASD

In with $15k/year, withdrew 2 weeks ago, just got an email this morning upping my scholarship to $20k/year.
Not sure what's not getting through to them, but I'm still trying to open my spot/$ up for somebody else.

It was cool, made me really happy with my choice. They have a pretty awesome sounding internal and external clinic program. Essentially you can be trying cases your 2nd year under the supervision of a professor or outside attorney.1Mwaiting2016 wrote:How did ASD go?Carter N wrote:Who is going to the open house tomorrow?

One student who spoke said he's put over 30 people in jail before even graduating because of a clinical program with the commonwealth's attorney's office.

LSAT>GPA it's like any other law school admissions cycle. they want to keep their LSAT median and what-not's up and same goes for GPA but a little less so. Scholly correlates pretty highly with LSATbsktbll28082 wrote:are UR scholarships based on GPA or LSAT? or just need? anyone know?

Do they ever change their offers (after people withdraw)? I basically got nothing after the dean kept telling me she liked my high credentials. Granted, my LSAT was low; it's killing me. I'm assuming she meant GPA, experience, undergrad degrees.

well there's a chance you might be able to get an increase. you should negotiate. if you search TLS there's a ton of negotiation tactics you could usebsktbll28082 wrote:Do they ever change their offers (after people withdraw)? Talk to Dean Rahman, she's been around long enough that she has some say over scholarships if she feels the student is worthy even if their LSAT is lower than one might like. She really is a great lady, I had dinner with her when she came to Philadelphia!lhanvt13 wrote:LSAT>GPA it's like any other law school admissions cycle. they want to keep their LSAT median and what-not's up and same goes for GPA but a little less so. tony2167 wrote:For anyone interested, Richmond doesn't seem to negotiate scholarships. I sent an email to the generic law admissions address yesterday asking to whom I should address a question about additional merit aid and got a call from one of the deans last night. Was basically told they don't have extra funds right now.
You are definitely right, they don't negotiate. They want students who want to be there because they want to go to Richmond, not because they got a lot of Scholarship money. Richmond does things VERY differently, its one of the things that appealed to me over schools that would have cost less!
