Sometimes schools just say that as a polite way of telling people "we don't want to increase your financial aid package"

FYI - I talked to some people who got in off the waitlist last year in late may/early June and got $ in the 10-15k range. Don't give up hope!

Hastings set my first deposit date as May 15th, which I will of course comply to regardless, but it would be nice to have a financial offer beforehand

I found out that I was accepted off of the waitlist on Tuesday. I received the WL email in the morning and got the call 5 hours later in the afternoon that I was accepted. My seat deposit is also due May 15th.

From what I recall, it was within a week or two after getting in off the WL. I'll ask around to see if I can get more details.

I'm not sure if I entirely understand your question, but hoping this helps-

There is the FAFSA application you fill out for any/every school. Hastings also has a supplemental financial aid application (that is, if I remember, done through them). Neither mean you are bound to Hastings, but at least in the WL emails they made it clear you must have completed both to be considered admission.

Got my call yesterday - I'm in!

I called back today to ask a few questions and they were able to give me a preliminary aid estimate, they said I'm eligible for a grant of ~15,500/yr and they'll also reassess funds during the summer.

Have until the 15th to respond. My guess would be you'll hear by Tues/Wed if at all, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, email on the 1st, call on the 9th.

The call was tricky - they first asked some questions about whether or not I'd be interested if someone were to call back later when spots open up, then after basically repeating the LOCI I had written to them over the phone they offered admission on the spot.

Be prepared to "convince" them to let you in if this is really where you want to go.
