It was an 8.5x11" envelope with a view book, instructions for the Admitted Students' Website, and some information on clinics that you might be interested in based on your application. I haven't heard anything on what they do with WL and dings, but I'd assume they're by email.

However, the admissions office seems to be experimenting with a lot of stuff this cycle, so who knows.

Thanks! Does anyone know how they notify people who have been waitlisted/rejected?

I just checked the LSN graph, and no one has been rejected/waitlisted yet this year (that one yellow dot is someone from 2011 for some reason.) So far, no one can say for sure.

Cusenation, any memory of last year?

LOL Does that graph say that the first waitlists were March 1st, and then the first WL->Admit was March 3rd?

Everything (acceptances, scholarships, rejections and waitlists) were sent initially via email last year. Then they mailed the standard mailing package to admits a week or two later, no idea what they did for waitlists and dings after that initial email.

Scholarship notices/Fin Aid notices were only done through email.

EDIT: Just saw the graph posted above. I'm not sure how accurate it is, because I do remember there being posts about dings that preceded January from last year's thread.

Just a word of encouragement to waitlisted (or future waitlisted) applicants...WUSTL offered scholly to most of the people admitted off the waitlist last year. No idea if EVERYONE did, but it seemed like most ppl on TLS were offered some money. WUSTL's got lots of money and they're not afraid to use it protect their medians via waitlist admits

The numbers refer to week and not day but yeah that's still pretty quick.

The people in wrong cycles are really starting to get on my nerves.

I think their first deposit deadline was sometime in early March..which might explain the quick turnaround

Sorry nvm, it was April 1

That still makes a lot of sense. I'm assuming if you're offered a spot off the waitlist, they probably give you a week or two to commit and deposit, so admitting in the middle of March would give you two weeks.

Haha it looks like you submitted/went complete right in the thick of the holiday season. Then there was that flu outbreak that swept through the midwest (wouldn't be surprised if it hit some of the adcomm officers). Either way, considering the holidays, flu, MLK weekend, and huge wave of december LSAT applicants, it's likely that they've only had a week or two to actually review or even see your app.

Stay strong, it will happen! 8)

You're like the magic 8 ball of the WUSTL thread. But with better answers.

Ok, I put all my faith in you and withdrawl all my other apps because you said I'd get in.

/s (unless you want me to WUSTL)

hahaha I wouldn't go that far, and obviously you're not in until you're in...but for all intents and purposes, LSAT's from 165-169/170 are like the holy grail for WUSTL right now. The value of your LSAT score changes depending on your peers. And as of right now a 167 is useful in almost every likely scenario. Their medians drop, 167 is around the 75th. Medians maintain or go up slightly, 167 protects the median.

So far it doesn't look like they have a GPA floor..you have a valuable LSAT...and you're low-risk as far as YP (aka if admitted, WUSTL will likely be one of your better options). I've said this before, but I really really would be surprised if you got dinged outright. At worst it'll be a waitlist

I think other people could potentially speak on this stuff as well, but there's not a lot of WUSTL re-applicants. Once you've seen how they do admissions/waitlists/schollys, you get a sense of their priorities. Crowing could probably relate to some of the stuff I'm saying. I was also a splitter last year (and this year i guess) so I understand the anxiety.

I also spent a lot of time looking into WUSTL when I was deciding whether to take a year off (i.e. their ranking rise, job placement, faculty bios etc..). They're really trying to transition from a regional powerhouse into a national school. And you can tell from their CSO efforts. Maintaining a good ranking is probably perceived as instrumental to this end-goal. And yes medians probably dropped everywhere last year, but WUSTL is the only T-20 school that completely dropped out of the top 20. There's no way that they don't making reclaiming their place in the T-20 a major priority. Good LSAT scores (like yours) are vital to achieving that.

* Not to suggest that "top 20" is a meaningful cutoff point for prestige/quality, just used it to demonstrate how WUSTL's ranking drop is different from the "medians dropped everywhere" phenomenon that affected its peer schools.
