Hey guys, long time lurker. I had my phone interview (with Janet Laybold rather than Ms. Clifford) and was given the verbal acceptance on Tuesday, December 11 (so a full week ago). Haven't received any email from Wash-U or had any sort of status update. Do you guys think I should call the admissions office or just hang tight? Thanks for your help on this

Hang tight. They haven't forgotten about you. The only thing that changed in my status checker was the date, but nothing else. and it took well over a week for me to get my acceptance letter in the mail.

Probably fine. This interview process things is new to WUSTL, might just be getting backed up. Law schools are often a black box. One school I applied to last semester didn't even show they had recieved my app until after 3 weeks it was submitted, and then dragged their feet while all the others were trying to woe me.

Yeah, what sunny said. Mine took exactly a week to arrive, and Dean Clifford said she'd have the office rush it out to me that day since I told her I'd be going home for Christmas break in about a week. Usually, though, the office waits a few days until they can send a batch of them out at once. Hang tight.

Had an interview last Friday. For those of you who were unofficially admitted, what did your interviewers say? "You are in, please look forward to your letter" type of thing?

Mine kept saying "you'll hear from us soon." I don't think they've wait listed or rejected any interviewees yet, so you're probably in good shape.

I had my interview with Dean Laybold on Wed 12/12. About halfway through the call, she said she wanted to let me know that I was being offered admission in case I had additional questions relating to being admitted. I believe she said they would try to get the physical letter in the mail out this week.

Thanks guys. Mine said something along the lines of, "We haven't fully reviewed your application but I'm going to recommend we admit you." Very nice interview though and the whole experience certainly makes one more interested in the school.

Ms. Laybold told me at the end of the phone call that they would be offering me admission. But she said she was pretty sure they would be emailing out info later that day (back on 12/11), which never happened. Doesn't look like they've been entirely consistent with this stuff.

It's a brand new interview program, so this is bound to happen. You definitely got in, and like I said earlier, no one has reported here yet getting an interview and not getting an acceptance within a few weeks. All in all, wouldn't you rather be one of the guinea pigs early on than wait a few more months?

Admissions letter and information came today. It had some clinical-specific packets included (reflecting our interview conversation) which was a nice touch. Other than that, the standard packet, ASD username etc. etc.

Other than that, feels good! Got in somewhere :D Congrats to all those that have heard back and good luck to those waiting.

Hoping I can make ASD... but CA -> St. Louis is a pricey trip. Trolling priceline and like right now.

FYI, just booked that Thursday night before ASD at the Ritz Carlton for $104. There are some good deals out there.

I wouldn't really have any reason to be there, but it sounds like a good idea in principle.

When is ASW and how did you find out? Is our user name to the admitted students website something we can guess or do we need to wait for snail mail admit letter?

The first one is January 25th. There's another one in March, I think, but I forget the date. Try to log in to the admitted students site using the e-mail address you put on your app as your username, and your first initial, last initial, and last 4 digits of your SSN as your password. (John Smith, 1234 would be js1234)

I just scheduled my interview with WUSTL for tomorrow. Any tips or advice? I assume they will just be picking something out from my resume and chatting with me about it. But I've never had a law school interview before, so I'm not sure what do think.

It's informal. I'd definitely be prepared to ask a question or two towards the end with specific questions you have about WUSTL. (clinics, location, grading, etc. etc. they have a lot of unique features)

But for me (and most other) it kinda went as follows: Why that major/minor? Why WUSTL? Question about your resume/some activity that sparked interest in them. Perhaps a follow up or two, and lot's of moments where they state why they liked YOU.

So I wouldn't worry too much, it was super casual and it's really more of an attempt to make both you and the admissions team feel more comfortable with one another.

Just be nice, fill any gaps in your application, and you should be fine!

I'd just remind you that an interview is for talking about things they don't already know. Don't waste time restating your resume; I made efforts to talk a little about the more minor points of my application, and to talk a little about my outside interests that may not have come through. It was a very friendly chat, above all, I would not suggest overpreparing or being nervous about it! :D

I just got off the phone with Dean Clifford. Got offered admission about halfway through the interview! Psyched, I'm thinking about flying out there for their ASW. Tix from Cali are expensive though, so we'll see.

Question. Has anyone been waiting a hell of a long time for their WUSL app to go "Complete?"

After an email confirming the receipt of my application on 12/4, it's been total radio silence. I understand that their status checker says very clearly at the top that it can take up to two weeks, and additionally, that this is probably a super hectic couple of weeks for admissions offices. However! I just wanted to be sure this isn't completely outside of the norm...
