I got an invite as well, 168 / 3.06... it would probably be a bad idea to not accept the invite, right?

I got the interview invite. I'm going to go with the yield-protect theory, because it bodes better for our prospects than the borderline-candidate theory.

Should we take this move as they are really perplexed as to how this cycle is going to turn out?

I got the invite as well. It kind of seemed like it was up to us if we wanted to accept, but are you all thinking that we would be auto-ding if we didn't interview (168/3.68)

Re: WUSTL c/o 2016
That's strange; I don't recall WUSTL ever doing interviews before. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of rhyme or reason to it right now; most of the numbers seem to be fairly borderline but not all of them... But if it really IS for YP there's no way they wouldn't ask me to interview because I was accepted last year with 90k and turned them down, and I didn't get a request.

Are any September Apps still sitting at "Application Complete" on the status checker? This seems odd since decisions are expected somewhat soon for auto admits (3.6/170).......

I am. But I was admitted last year without the status checker ever changing to UR (or admitted even).dsn32 wrote:Are any September Apps still sitting at "Application Complete" on the status checker? This seems odd since decisions are expected somewhat soon for auto admits (3.6/170).......

Re: WUSTL c/o 2016
Got the invite as well 167/3.5. Fairly borderline for them, but still, maybe with the likelihood of seeing their medians drop this year, they're looking to make sure they're accepting candidate that are seriously interested in attending?

When are you all going to reply? I'm thinking early next week would be ideal for a time? I guess I'll email them back tomorrow.

Also, in case anyone was wondering what the email entailed:
Dear Applicant,
Thank you for applying to Washington University School of Law. As part of our application process, we are offering candidates the opportunity to interview with us. This is an optional part of the process, but we think it can be a very valuable one. It will give us a chance to get to know you better and it will also be a time for you to learn more about Washington University School of Law.
You may schedule a time to speak by Skype or phone with Associate Dean of Admissions Janet Laybold, Director of Admissions Krystal Orr, or with me, Assistant Dean of Admissions Mary Ann Clifford. Just contact our office at admiss@wulaw.wustl.edu or 314-935-4525. Appointments are available Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm CT. If you are in the St. Louis area, we welcome you to schedule an in-person interview.
Thank you again for your interest in Washington U Law and your application. We look forward to speaking with you soon!

Re: WUSTL c/o 2016
congrats to those that have gotten in, and those that are considering. I may have some insight into the interview process. WUSTL is really trying to up it's selectivity and matriculation percentage, so probably the reason why. the classes have been cut down from 270 to 240 to my class which is only 200 and the number of test takers are down, so i think it's all about selectively. I will say that you shouldn't be too nervous. the admission people are really nice.

Re: WUSTL c/o 2016
So I've fortunately been accepted at my third choice with money and WUSTL isn't really on my radar anymore. I'm also not keen on going through interview prep for WUSTL. Suggestions on how I should decline the interview invitation?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
