Re: outside scholarships
http://law.wustl.edu/financialaid/resources.asp
List of outside scholarships compiled by WUSTL, includes but not limited to:
-Minorities
-Women
-Disabilities
-Think I saw some LGBT as well, but can't remember
-Sons/daughters of certain company employees
-Residents of certain states/counties
-Demonstrated PI interest
-Various fraternities/sororities (both honors and social)
(There are some where you're eligible if your parents were in a certain Greek org as well)
It's a long list but it's probably worth browsing through.
Also,
Any Greeks/members of religious organizations should check each org's website directly to see if they offer any scholarships. My frat wasn't included in the WUSTL list but it turns out they do give grad school schollies to members.
Also any foreign students or permanent residents should check with their consulates as well. I know the Korean consulate gives scholarship awards to both Korean-born/American-born ethnic Korean students.
