Just made it. Not very sophisticated. Couldn't figure out how to change the color of the mug, but I guess that's the good thing of having white as an official school color.

I'm sure we discussed this at some point, but why exactly are we optimistic that they will be giving out more $$$ than usual this year?

I am very excited about getting the scholly email soon. I checked out the URMs on LSN who applied last cycle, and those with similar numbers to mine got some pretty decent awards.

well mostly because if WUSTL wants any hope of not falling out of the T20 completely then they'll have to buy back their medians. (Unless there are a ton of clueless 167+ kids out there) But also because I think MAC told XS20 that the delay is partly because the committee is "struggling with their budget because they want to give really good awards this year."

This is mostly aspie speculation, but I really think this is taking so long because they asked for a scholly budget increase from the higher-ups in order to maintain their medians this year. Convo with MAC the other day seemed to suggest that also, although she didn't come out and say it.

This is a crucial year for them. It's extremely difficult to move up in the rankings in an environment of declining apps (mostly in the high LSAT segment). If WUSTL doesn't clinch better medians with us, that's basically it for their T20 status barring some kind of major major major change in the application climate. Our cycle is the year where they're most likely to go out of their way to redeem themselves.

Looking at their LSN from last year is really interesting because it looks like they got kinda desperate at the end of the cycle and gave lots of money to a handful of splitters who applied late. I really hope they that generous to all of us splitters this year because I'd probably need at least the $105k that those people got to consider attending.
