UNC is way up there on my list, but mere acceptance is not a sufficient condition for my enrollment.

Okay man, we get it.

Seriously considering going to UNC. Here's hoping scholarship money is announced before long, I'm pretty debt averse. Anyone been able to get information on the Carolina North move? Best I can understand is that they aren't moving the LS there after money stalled in 2010? Best of luck to everyone applying!

From what I've heard, it sounds like the move won't be happening until sometime after the class of 2016 graduates.

At the open house I went to they said probably by 2016. So... we'd get maybe one semester over there.

Those are almost the exact numbers I got in with two years ago. You're in, esp being in NC. I'm jealous

Just got the email that if I were to have received a scholarship, I would have heard by now.
Ouch.
Probably looking for my OOS dollars. I like UNC, but definitely would need $$$.

I am above both medians with solid softs, but no scholly? I have 2 full rides from schools ranked way higher than UNC. They will be getting a kind but firm email indicating that if they realy want me they will have to match (at least) my T25 offers. Perhaps they just don't have any money or are being too optimistic about their matriculation rate this cycle. I like the state of North Carolina, but it is not worth sticker in these time (out of state). With the exception of a welcoming phone call from a faculty member, the admissions team has also treated me in a rather distasteful manner. Good luck UNC (yes you admissions officers that secretly read this blog). This cycle you are going to need it.

Just got my info by e-mail today. $10k per year. Lowest I got from any school I got into (and I got into a couple better ranked schools than UNC) so I'll more than likely go elsewhere.

On LSN I am seeing a 169 3.5 with a 30K total offer... they have already withdrawn... That person also had 90K to UCLA, 74K to Vandy, $60K to GW... 30K is like spitting in their face!

Not necessarily. Tuition is much lower to start with, especially if that person happens to be in state.

This is true... just not of the applicant in question.

I was offered 10K a year. Like others, I had better $$ offers from higher ranked schools. I declined my offer of admission, so hopefully that opens up some money to others! They explicitly stated in their email that they do not negotiate scholarships, which I felt was a little harsh, since it was emphasized by underlining the sentence.

That's how I felt, too! I went into this cycle absolutely determined to be a Tar Heel. I'm not too upset over the $10k a year offer, though it's not at all competitive...they're a public university with limited funds, and I'm sure they lose a lot of great students every year simply because they can't afford to make it raaaaaain. But the general tone of all the correspondence I had with them was a huge turn off when compared to pretty much every other school...granted, all of it was the sort of form-letter stuff that everyone gets, and I'm sure the people that work there would have been much nicer in person or in individual messages, but good lord. They should replace the robot that writes their mass-emails.

I can confirm that the people who work in the admissions office are very nice, and in my experience very helpful. I don't know about this "rude" automated email business since the only correspondence I've gotten that was automated was my "application received" email.
