UCLA with a 164?

Post by veryfunny » Wed Nov 14, 2012 5:26 pm

Hi all...I have been getting mixed reviews from people about my chances at UCLA. They sent me a merit-based fee waiver as well. I was wondering if anyone who has gotten accepted with these numbers or knows of someone who has could please respond to this post.

164 LSAT
3.94 GPA

Thanks in advance & good luck to you all!

well you probably won't get a lot of money, but the market ties and instate tuition will def make it a bit better. You should seriously retake though, because a couple points gives you a shot at Berkeley and Stanford (if you have additional requisite softs)

Applications are down nationwide, so you should receive at least a waitlist decision.

I'd be optimistic if I were you. I think you'll likely be in. I'm surprised to hear about the 168/169 and 3.9's that didn't get in. Were there other deterring factors? Those are solid #'s looking at their range of matriculated students and lsn.

Retaking is a good idea, if you think you can pull off a jump. If you're not registered for Dec. you might talk to the school and see if an improvement in Feb. will help you get some scholly $$. :)

JamMaster, how are you enjoying your T6 BTW? (congrats on that retake, otherwise you would be at a lower T1 right?)

I was surprised too. I know he applied mid-Janurary, might be why. But he had lots of softs (volunteer work in community organizations, foreign languages, study abroad etc.). Just really weird!

Oh, this is getting to be an old thread now, but I thought it worth mentioning that UCLA IN-STATE next year is going to be like $47.5k. Plus COL in L.A. x 3 years = HOLY GEEBUS!
