Nothing yet. I hate how it's rolling and not a set date!

Anyone going to the Admitted Students' Day 1 on Fri Mar 22?

And to those from CA - anyone going to the California Alumni & Admitted Students' Receptions?

After acceptance, how long does it take to hear about any scholarship info, if any?

They had been sending a second email shortly (within a few hours) after the admission email, but I don't know if that has changed.

Accepted Via email 3/8
Applied 2/26

161/3.53

edit: on the admitted website, it says that I can view my financial aid award online by creating an AU account. Does this count as accepting a bid? Or should I wait for a separate email/letter?

Heard back from PIPS on Feb 28.

Applied Mid January. Accepted Feb 25 to WCL, accepted Feb 28 to PIPS - so it was very soon after acceptance. Received an email and a phone call.

Is there a Facebook group for admitted students?

I'm surprised by the short span of time between the WCL acceptance and the PIPS acceptance.

The PIPS explanation states that they only review applicants who have been accepted, which wouldn't have started until your Feb 25 notice. I'd think the PIPS decision would take longer than 3 days, so it strikes me that they may have begun the PIPS review before the formal admissions decision for applicants with strong numbers.

This is reassuring. I think the reason I haven't heard back yet is YP (got accepted last cycle, and decided to postpone school for a year without going through the formal deferment process). I'm reading the short timeframe between your admit and PIPS award as a sign that the PIPS committee may be looking at the folks who are held for YP purposes.

Maybe not accurate, but it feels reassuring to think of it this way. Haha.

(Also, PM sent.)

Ugh, I applied to AU back in January (literally just because they gave me a fee waiver) and it's been nothing but radio silence. I feel like I'm about to get YPed.

I went complete in September. Had an update the first week of December. Above both medians. It's absurd.

Just withdrew my application. Didn't want to give them the satisfaction of denying or wait-listing a URM who is above both of their medians.

How do you withdraw? Just write a friendly e-mail or is there a formalized way?

My app rests on pride at this point as well. I don't know if I'd feel better waiting out the cycle only to withdraw or get a leg up now and withdraw.

I bet they send you an email saying you are rejected. You know, to boost that yield percentage, and so they could have the last laugh like a vindictive ex :).

I just wrote them a brief email. It said something along the lines of: "I would like to thank the admissions committee for considering my full-time JD program application; at this time, however, I kindly ask that you withdraw my application. Thank you. (Full Name)"

 I would become an AU hater for life if they did that.

awkwardly still waiting for a reply from AU. I applied early fall with way above both medians as a safety (sorry that made me sound like an asshole, I know it's a good school. but I'm from the DC area and figured since I was above both medians I might be able to squeeze some $) and I still never heard back. not a peep. at all.

Waitlisted this morning with a 168. Honestly, I just hadn't withdrawn to see if they would actually do this. Pretty laughable.

What a joke. I really don't understand their game. I was legitimately excited to go to this school earlier in my cycle. I only see them slipping further down the ranks if they keep up these kinds of admissions practices. it's a shame.

Yeah, I don't want to turn this into a "bash American" thread -- if some decide it's the best option for them, all power to them -- but some of the things this school does just make you shake your head. Pretty hilarious someone who got into George Washington without being waitlisted couldn't get into American initially.
