I sent an email to someone in financial aid asking them to reconsider me for merit scholarship and they told me that the merit aid review committee will be meeting mid February and that I should expect a response some time after that. If you call the school they'll tell you exactly who to get in contact with.
Same deal here, got an e-mail today saying my scholarship request was passed onto whoever. Request? Request? This is a motherfucking demand.Keasbey wrote:FallingHigher wrote:Anyone hear anything about negotiations? I am sitting at a 163 with a near 4.0. They are offering 7.5k a year. I said this in a T-14 thread and I'll say it again here: no one is too good for any school, no matter how high or low it is ranked. That comment reeked of "I'm too good for this school, and you can only have my services if you pay handsomely." Though this is a very fair case (since law school is expensive and often we can only go at a sharp discount), don't make it seem like you're too good for Temple or anywhere else. People would love to go here, and attitudes like that are simply not cool by me.emarxnj wrote:Same deal here, got an e-mail today saying my scholarship request was passed onto whoever. Request? Really? I have the same LSAT with a 3.7X and was offered 10K. I haven't contacted about negotiations though.FallingHigher wrote:Anyone hear anything about negotiations? I am sitting at a 163 with a near 4.0. They are offering 7.5k a year. I was hoping for a bit more :/

From what I remember, Temple never labeled anything as "under review." I went straight from complete (maybe with two updated dates) to accepted.nba101790 wrote:Second complete date today. For those of you who've heard back, did you go into review or get a decision from completion?
Thanks, I'll be on the lookout for an email perhaps today.magp90 wrote:From what I remember, Temple never labeled anything as "under review." If you received a merit scholarship, then you would have gotten a second letter directly behind the acceptance letter. You can probably contact them to request a reconsideration!cbarlow1016 wrote:No scholarship info in packet this means I got nothing?!
aww i guess i got nothing. would 90K at loyola marymount help my case at all??magp90 wrote:If you received a merit scholarship, then you would have gotten a second letter directly behind the acceptance letter. Hey, at least you got an offer. You're in a better position to negotiate up than I, without an offer, am. Prior to any acceptances I'd built Temple up in my mind as my #1 (assuming I was going to receive a significant scholarship), so getting my acceptance packet last week with no scholarship was incredibly disheartening, granted I'm a bit of a splitter (3.19/164). Does anyone know why Temple is being so stingy this cycle? Looking at past cycles on LSN it seems like they used to give pretty decent money out.FallingHigher wrote:Anyone hear anything about negotiations? I am sitting at a 163 with a near 4.0. Temple is a public school so they're more at the whim of the state budget and the economy probably...tony2167 wrote:Hey, at least you got an offer. Given that they're in completely different markets and aren't peers in that respect, it may not be that simple. You would probably have to explain why you would rather be in Philadelphia as opposed to LA.cbarlow1016 wrote:aww i guess i got nothing. would 90K at loyola marymount help my case at all??magp90 wrote:If you received a merit scholarship, then you would have gotten a second letter directly behind the acceptance letter.
