Congrats! Thought I'm surprised you didn't get the 105k with your #s.

Thanks. I am a bit surprised too, honestly. I got the same offer from a higher ranked school so I was hoping I would get more from them. Hopefully Emory negotiates.

edit: Ive actually been reading that Emory has a non negotiation policy. I hope that is not true.

Me too. Especially since all my offers are beginning to settle in the same range.

a 'non-negotiation' policy just seems like a way to reduce the requests for increases. given Emory's rankings, half their applicants are probably choosing between t14 sticker and Emory buxx....no way they actually refuse to negotiate.

+1

They will negotiate. They have to. To admits with no ties to the South/Georgia (which I imagine is a lot of us), there's really no reason to choose Emory over a T14/more-national T20 unless there's a significant discount.

An 80-90K scholly could still potentially translate to 100K+ in debt once interest and if housing/COL loans are included

Keep in mind that the Admissions Dean watches this thread. Now he* may call y'all out on this. :-P

*Unless Admissions has little jurisdiction over this issue and that's a Financial Aid deal. It's hard to tell because Adm. offered schollies in the acceptance letter.

lol oops :( ...but I don't think I'm being particularly unreasonable or vitriolic. Just saying that Emory will probably need to be open to negotiations if it wants to attract admits away from T14 options

In with $26k/year, $78k total. Pretty sweet. Don't know if it's quite enough to lure my debt-averse self away from some of the other options I have, but I might go check out the Visiting Day thing.

For those who are receiving decisions, have there been any rejections/waitlists when did you send your apps in?

In with 84,000 total and a nice handwritten note about looking into the child law clinic. Yay!

It appears as if there have only been admits via LSN. I'm thinking "the sooner, the better" is a key facet of Emory admissions.

Hopefully Emory's staff takes note of this discussion. Emory's COA is 71k (over three years, 260k debt-financed without any discounts per LST) and 105k is the largest non-named scholarship Emory is offering? Especially  in light of the fact that many of ya'll are not only competitive for admittance to higher-ranked schools but also $ at those schools. In any case, congrats to those who got acceptances recently.

Well, that's weird. Why do you think they offered so low?

Not URM. Also 164 is probably around median..but the GPA is so much higher..can't think of any other big reason since his softs seem very impressive.

Congrats to new admits

They said they're doing admits in waves and that there are plenty of waves coming. Also you could get an envelope tomorrow. Too soon to lose hope
