Needs to be a full-ride with no stips or I'm out.

I'm not quite there yet, but I'm pretty freekin' close! Half-ass planning a retake for June, but I gotta say I wasn't really hoping to sit out a cycle. But I'm definitely starting to look like that as an option.

The rankings will change three more times by the time we all graduate. It seems like those rankings do more harm than good.

Good point. It's the more realistic employment stats that really have me concerned. Even if one maintains a $90k scholly, there is still a lot of money to borrow (or to lay out, if that is your situation) for a 25% shot at a median salary of $75k at grad and 50% at 9 months. This could be short sighted, but I still wonder what becomes of the other 50%.

Submitted FAFSA in early Feb. and indicated LLS at the time. I didn't update with the code they sent but I'm pretty sure it was on there, as there is only one LLS. I have not received an estimated award notification yet. Did you?

Welp. Looks like if my retake this June doesn't satisfy my LSAT needs, I'm packin' my bags to South Bend.

The whole Californian economy is just tanking. We're broke as #$%^. Davis dropped 9 spots to 38, Hastings is barely T1. Even Berkeley and UCLA dropped two spots.

If only I had a money offer from another Cali school. Or else I'd immediately be mailing them tomorrow trying to negotiate a higher scholarship with that rankings drop...51 to 68 is actually scary. Loyola was always hovering around that T1 barrier but now we're definitely a T2...

Would this rankings slide make LLS worry about a slide in yield rate, and thus encourage them to accept more people than they normally would to keep their seats full?

I feel like some people who have money elsewhere are going to be inclined to go to the higher ranked school after the significant drop in rankings.

I would imagine it would press them to throw more money to keep or increase their median LSAT and GPA (although that is not what caused their ranking demise). If anything, expect more waitlists and more individuals getting in off the waitlist. Do not let the rankings drop change your mind too much though. The school is the same school you liked yesterday as it is today. The only difference is a new ranking methodology was used that caused alot of stir between schools ranked 30 and up.

By "30 and up" you mean "and lower," correct?

I don't have time to write a long response about the drop in rankings because I have an LRW assignment I should be doing but I just want to point out that this reasoning is flawed. Obviously you should consider SD if they gave you money (especially since their money comes without stipulations IIRC) but you shouldn't just be like, "oh well they are ranked the same so it's a toss up!" If you want to work in LA then going to school in SD is not your best bet. Regardless of their current ranking LLS is still the third best school in Los Angeles and if you are coming to school here it should be with the hopes of landing a job in LA and it's surrounding areas, not elsewhere.
