Probably. I think that, to begin with, they are both schools that have more regional clout than national clout. They also both have some great emphasis tracks. In the case of UMD, I am keenly interested in their Environmental Law and Healthcare Law tracks. At GMU, their Regulatory Law track looks very enticing, and they are known for an emphasis on economics.

In deciding which is more desirable, I think it would solely come down to $$ for me.

I was sent two separate emails offering a fee waiver from UMD last night, so I sent in an app this morning. It does seem kind of late in the game for schools to be sending out unsolicited fee waivers. Anyone else get these? I feel like they just want to bump their numbers so they want me to apply just so they can reject me
I'm already in at American and GMU, though, so adding UMD to the mix would make for some interesting upcoming decisions.

applied 10/22 i have a 161/3.3 and no status update

Applied 9/25. 165/3.3 non-urm. No movement since "In Review" posted on 11/21.

I applied around Thanksgiving and have been "in review" for a month or so now. They've updated my date a few times, most recently yesterday (01.09). My stats are in profile, and with my GPA I wouldn't be surprised if I take a bit longer than the average but there really doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to the updates in the status checker, so I wouldn't read too much into it.

Also, with the December LSAC stats released yesterday, I'd be really surprised to see them ding anyone early who's around median, especially LSAT median. Just my (admittedly worthless) thoughts.

I emailed a girl in admissions who said she look into it for me and get back to me... that was the beginning of the week and I still haven't heard from her regarding when scholarship decisions will be made. I feel like last year they didn't release any until really late in the game, but I could be wrong. I reread last year's thread a while back and could be getting different threads confused.

On a side note though, I was accepted a while ago, but I never got that IT email... hope they didn't forget about me!

Oh I definitely was already admitted, I got my letter weeks ago but hadn't really heard anything since then.
