Re: Villanova 2016
i was put on hold and received this email:
Your application for admission to Villanova University School of Law has been reviewed by our Admissions Committee. The Committee has requested additional time to further review your application, and your file will thus be read by at least one additional committe member. In the meantime, we encourage you to submit supplemental information that may assist us in rendering a decision; for instance, new Letters of Recommendation, free-topic essays or updated transcripts (if applicable). You may send an optional one-page essay to admissions@law.villanova.edu; Letters of Recommendation may be sent to the same email address by the recommender or via LSAC’s Letter of Recommendation Service. Transcripts must be sent via LSAC.
We appreciate your patience as we diligently review your file. You should expect to have a decision in the upcoming weeks. Please feel free to contact the Admissions Office if you have any questions.
Sincerely,

honestly i'm just frustrated. I know its better than being out right rejected but I know my grades and score should make me a competitive candidate.

I got the exact same thing, zoomzoom.
Equally confused. 3.61/161/URM. Figured I was a lock. I don't see why they need additional letters of recommendation and new essays. Did they just lose our stuff or something? I dunno. I'm not going to bother. I can't see myself attending Villanova anyway.

Rascal/zoom our numbers are all pretty similar. Does nova worry about yield protection?

Also wait listed. I am also shocked. It seems unlikely that they had a huge influx of excellent candidates, so I wonder what they are playing at?

I still haven't heard anything and now I'm worrying about YP. 170/3.4 should get me in, but I've heard nothing yet and I submitted a few weeks ago.

Re: Villanova 2016
if you really want to go there I would write a LOCI now. I'm going to do the essay and send my fall grades (even though they probably are nothing stellar).

Sorry to hear the news guys. Now I'm nervous since my numbers are lower than those posted above, but I still haven't heard anything. Won't attend Nova without a nice scholly either.

Re: Villanova 2016
My numbers weren't great - 164/3.1 - but I thought it would be good enough for Villanova. I'm upset now because even if they accept me off the waitlist, there won't be as much financial aid available, right? Even if I manage to convince them that I do want to attend, I may not be able to afford it.

I mean it's not like we have 174s or anything. We're right at the 75th % for last year.zoomzoom88 wrote:DaRascal wrote:I got the exact same thing, zoomzoom.

Re: Villanova 2016
i sent them over an optional two page essay last night. if i still dont have a decision by the holidays I will give them my fall grades but honestly that is far off and i'd just be annoyed at that time if I was still waiting to her back. I don't really feel like hasselling another person for a rec. They get redundant. do you think that is good enough?

Spoke to admissions this morning -- for candidates on hold decisions won't come out until January at the earliest.

Nova was a safety school for me and I will likely withdraw as soon as I figure out what, if any, scholarship they offer, and if/when I get a more appealing acceptance that I would 100% take over anything Nova offers.
159/167, 3.98, Non-URM.
well congrats! ... would love to know what they offer you when you find out.
