you guys should try calling. I literally called this afternoon to ask when I should be expecting a decision because I had other seat deposits due soon, and my status changer changed to admitted just a few hours later!! not sure if the call had anything to do with it but it's worth a shot!meowllory wrote:Under review since 12/13... Im a current undergrad here who will probably attend for law school. I have an apartment downtown (walking distance to the law school) I can accommodate a visitor or two during the ASW if people need a couch to crash on.

I'm probably not attending ASD. I'm actually pretty disappointed that it's on a Saturday, and is only a 2 hour event followed by a reception. This is pretty low key compared to the other ASDs I've attended. It's funny because I started this cycle thinking I would be at Georgia, but their admissions process has persuaded me to look more closely at my other options.

I'm not going to ASD either, because the hassle of spending the extra $$ on rooms and being there an over-crowded weekend doesn't appeal to me. Why not try to go a different weekend? You can tour yourself, meet staff and students, and get a feel for the town and school on your own. I don't think I would rule out the school because their ASD isn't up to par.zackw618 wrote:I'm probably not attending ASD. I gave this a shot today, considering I actually do have responses due at the beginning of April. This is the response I received.kjb wrote:keegz wrote:you guys should try calling. Been under review since early December, with no movement at all (haven't even been held). LSAT on the lower side with a high GPA. Wouldn't be overly upset if I don't get in, but some sort of decision would be nice. Has anybody else been under review for this long without hearing anything?
PS...with some seat deposit deadlines coming up, is it too pushy to call and ask when I can expect a decision?

don't let that response discourage you, that's literally exactly what they said to me and then later that daymy online status changed to acceptedkjb wrote:

I don't know why Alabama's ranking has anything to do with anything, but I personally won't care if you wear your Bama gear. If we somehow get a reenactment of this year's SEC Championship, I would probably give you a if you wore one the day after. But it's because I'd be butt-hurt again.2012Lsatscore wrote:Due to Bama's rise to stardom, it looks like I'm probably going to end up at UGA. That is, unless I just totally hate it 4/6.
Question: Do I have to throw out all of my Bama gear before orientation? I'd hate to be accused of mutiny.

I was born and raised a Gator, both my parents are alums of UF, and UGA is also my likely landing spot. I have plenty of orange and blue gear that won't be going away if I end up in Athens. Stay true to your roots 2012!

Re: University of Georgia c/o 2016 applicants (2012-13 cycle)
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone had information about travel stipend or any type of aid (eg. hotel discounts) available to admitted students not only for the open house event on 4/6 but also for general scheduled visits.
I could really use some help coming to Athens since I'll need to fly out from the west coast, and my budget is already too tight as it is

You should call and ask admissions, but I'm under the impression that they will not be offering you (or anyone) any financial assistance in visiting.Makguli wrote:Hi all,

I toured Abbey West, 909 Broad, and The Lodge at Athens apartments today. 909 was very nice and close to campus but pretty pricey. Abbey West was ok, but it's further from campus and pretty catered to UGs. The Lodge was nice and close to campus, but again, it had that undergrad feel.

Re: University of Georgia c/o 2016 applicants (2012-13 cycle)
I have worked in housing for the past three years in Athens. Abbey west is definitely a community that caters to undergrads and so is the Lodge. If you want something quiet, stray from those types of communities (which you can tell when you tour there). Grad students like 909 but honestly if you have a car, you can live farther away and pay less. It's so expensive and not worth it if you don't mind a short drive to campus.hannahhal225 wrote:I toured Abbey West, 909 Broad, and The Lodge at Athens apartments today. 909 was very nice and close to campus but pretty pricey. Hmm... after being under review for more than four months, my status checker now says, "You need to apply!"
Has this happened to anyone else?
