You can view the loan amounts in Oasis but I don't think those are the finalized amounts that you can accept yet.

I'm so behind, I guess. I don't know anything about Oasis (or are you guys UGA undergrads?)

I'm not a UGA undergrad..once you create your UGA MyId, you can log into oasis and see your loan amounts.

Damn just found this thread today! I was told that the loan amounts would be released around the middle of June. Also, anyone else living in 755 broad building? I rented a one bedroom there and will be getting to Athens in early August.

Sorry--the loan amounts in OASIS now are the projected amounts that you'll be offered. Finalized amounts will come out in June, and that's when you can accept them.

I'll be in 755 too, probably a week before the orientation starts.

I hate the wait list. Georgia is so unresponsive about when decisions are made. It almost makes the offers from Valparaiso Law and Akron Law suck less.

Did anyone else get an invitation to apply for the Summer Academic Success program? I'm interested in applying, but I have nowhere to live from August 5th-12th. Anyone else in a similar predicament?

I've been getting some prices for cable and internet and SHEESH! It looks like I might be sacrificing TV. Charter wants about $110 a month for cable and DVR for only 1 TV in my house and internet. I get multi-room DVR, on demand, the hockey channel, and internet where I live now for under $100. Does anyone know of an alternative before I just retire to Netflix?

Cant get antenna signal in Athens really, they must know it and jack the prices skyhigh. There should be some "first 12 months at a lower price deal" though.

Alternative: live in family housing, TV incl HBO and internet included in rent.

I just got simple cable and internet from charter for $81.30 a month after taxes. That was the price I got quoted online which apparently is less than what they give you over the phone, however the lady I spoke too thought it might be because I am a student or something and its a discount. I didn't get DVR or any extras. The internet speed seems like it will be solid and if your tv has HD than you can get HD channels.

If wherever you are living offers something other than Charter, go with that. Ours is contracted so that we can only use Charter, and their customer service is terrible. We got internet and cable installed on our move in day, and they came and turned it off the next day because that was the day the previous resident said she was moving out. They'll try to charge you for coming out for things like that also. Fair warning
