And does anyone know the 1L salary for K&L Gates? It's coming up blank.
Holland's Portland office is not even showing up in the search results...

A NALP search gives me two outliers at the high end:
Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe - $145k (only 7 lawyers in Portland office)
Marten Law - $127.5k (Enviro/Energy boutique)
The rest of Portland "biglaw":
Perkins Coie - $115k
Stoel Rives - $115k
Davis Wright Tremaine - $110k
Lane Powell - $110k
Klarquist Sparkman - $105k
Miller Nash - $105k
Tonkon Torp - $105k

K&L would pay around 100k, I'd imagine.

I'd think more than that if Orrick is at $145k.

This is a 3% increase over last year.
Welcome news because tuition increased by approx. 9% annually between 2010 & 2012.
2010 tuition: $31,984
2011 tuition: $35,098
2012 tuition: $38,180

The historical information is very interesting. Thanks.
They are wise to not go into the 40s at this time.

I want to know what they blew money on, which lead to them needing to raise tuition 8 grand in 3 years.
bobbypin wrote:It is not just Lewis and Clark, the other two Oregon law schools had significant tuition increases as well. What is troubling is there is no corresponding increase to scholarship medians offered.
Willamette tuition:
2008: $27,495
2009: $28,330
2010: $29,680
2011: $31,130
2012: $34,570
University of Oregon tuition:
2008: $19,596
2009: $20,570
2010: $22,328
2011: $24,031
2012: $28,354 (almost an 18% increase from the year prior!!)
From 2008 to 2012, Oregon increased tuition by $8758, Willamette increased tuition by $7075, and Lewis and Clark increased tuition by $9146.

Just a quieter group? Fewer applicants? Both?
Has anyone noticed if this phenomenon is occurring in the c/o threads of other schools?

Maybe it's because people are rethinking attending this school?
2013 USNWR ranking: 58
2014 USNWR ranking: 80
According to the above, only 27.5% of students were employed at graduation.

Yeah I'm shocked how far they dropped in one year. Biggest drop for any school ranked in the top 100 that I can see. Portland is just such a small legal market

It's shocking.
All of the Pacific NW schools dropped in rankings with the exception of Gonzaga.
UW from 20 to 28
Lewis and Clark from 58 to 80
U of O from 82 to 94
Seattle from 82 to 102
Gonzaga stayed at 113
Willamette from 129 to no published rank
Yikes.
sancho wrote:It looks like employed at graduation is only 4%. Employed 9 months after graduation is another 14%. There is a lot more to the drop than these figures.
JPR57 wrote:Where did you find the breakdown for these numbers? (4% at graduation and 14% 9 months later).
I agree: these numbers are incredible!
