Forgot I had a fee waiver here. Just sent in a late application after seeing how much $$ some people on here have been getting.

Good evening, TLSers~

Admitted students will get calls throughout the next week or so and as we make new offers. Some will be from me personally but I am am currently engaged in jury duty so other members of the admissions team are continuing with the calls in my place. Essentially we're trying to communicate three important points of information.

1) Congratulations to admitted students and the fact that official admissions packets will be mailed out in early February.

2) Admitted Student Days are scheduled for February 15, March 1, and April 5. Registration information should be emailed within the next week.

3) We'll be emailing a short survey that admitted students should complete to help us identify members of our community that can be helpful to you in learning about Wake, including current students, alumni, and faculty.

As usual, let me know if you have questions.

Went complete on Monday, Under review 1/15! It always feels nice to see a rapid change in status, even if it doesn't actually indicate much.

submitted my interview almost two weeks ago and just got an email saying "thank you for submitting." it's killing me seeing emails from these schools that i'm waiting for updates from and getting psyched out

Each class has a median of 85- half the class is below, half above. Wake uses the standard 90-100=A, 80-89=B, 70-79=C, 60-69=D. The highest grade usually given is a 98, the lowest is 61. Good academic standing means you must have at least a 73.

I read the student handbook and it said the standard deviation had to be like you described or it would have to be explained to the dean. Does this mean that someone in the class must recieve a 61 or an F?

No, it just means that the median grade has to be an 85. So if a professor gives an unusually high grade, its probably going to need to be a lower grade to balance it out. Last semester, the lowest grade anyone received in any of my classes was a 68, the highest in any of my classes was a 98. Some professors don't give below a "C" and no one in my section failed any exam. But there are some classes that don't have a mandatory curve- upper level, non-required classes with less than 20 students, some writing classes, etc. Overall, the curve isn't horrible, to me at least.

I'm in the same boat, I submitted last night before going complete and in review today. The more I learn about this program, the more impressed I am. I've always toyed with the idea of living in NC, this would be a wonderful excuse to make the move.

Same here. Could definitely picture myself in NC. Would need some $$ to attend, though, which I'm not sure I'd get. Good luck!

Sure! I am originally from Florida. I knew of Wake because of it's reputation and having family in Greensboro. I knew that it was a school that had a decent reputation in the south and mid-Atlantic- the area I'm looking for.

When I visited, I was sold. The small classes were great. I liked that everyone knew each other and the professors really knew their students. I felt comfortable and at home immediately. Everyone from my tour guide to the professors to the random students I asked questions of were happy to help and kind. The library was large and well managed, there was plenty of space for everyone. I just got that "feeling" that made me know it was a good fit. I also loved Winston-Salem. Being from Miami, I was surprised that I liked a city of this size, but it really has all of the comforts of a big city with a small town feel.

I truly feel at home here. And that's what really sold me.

As far as what I wish I'd known, that's mostly stuff that will be the same at any law school, not Wake specific. I wish I'd known how to pace myself so it wasn't as much of a mad dash at the end. I wish known I didn't have to be perfect to do well. I wish I had been less stressed. And I wish I had known contracts before hand

But I'm curious about what the last three questions would look like, I mean, the style of those questions....Any one would like to share? Your feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I only remember two because they kind of caught me off guard. 1) what is the best thing that has ever happened to you and 2) what motivates you. I was expecting why do you want to go to wake forest, what sets you apart from other applicants etc. Some of it was like that but more of it was not.

Thank you, dancer! I remember that Dean said the first two would be "Why law" and "Why Wake"...U didn't encounter these two questions, did u?
