Agreed.. saved up for a year for all the deposits I was going to make.. I think I'm good to go .. 750 would have bought me two ipads. IMAGINE THE SURROUND SOUND

that's my attempt at two ipads with sound waves and a face in the middle.
screw art, that's why I'm an engineer

Sorry to hear that enigma.

I was waitlisted too but interviewed and sent an LOCI. Honestly I think I completely nailed my interview.

10.77% at 100+ firms
13.85% for All clerkships
School funded after 9 months down to only 1.5% ish
not sure what the deal is when people aren't getting jobs but school funded jobs are getting cut

Unemployed Seeking + not Seeking = 25% .......

Just call them and ask. I'm sure dean mcshay will be happy to explain to the drop.
And also, as we disucussed here and in other threads it really doesn't matter. Regardless of ANY employment data, my opinion is that you have to make it into the top 20% to get a job. When that is in your mind all the rest is pretty much irrelavent. Just my 2c

I hear a lot of W&L current students talking about their class of 2013 and beyond having much better employment options than the few classes before them. They think the economy is recovering just a tad bit and we'll be able to see it at OCI's and stuff.. not sure how true all that is but maybe it's true and it's a good sign. But yeah as you said, top 20% seems to be getting what they're gunning for so I'll take the 2c's lol

Who cares. Those 24-35 kids will have full time JD required jobs.

Edit: what I mean by 'who cares' is that my personal opinion on employment stats of schools in the 15/20-30 range is that it doesn't really matter since if you're gunning for biglaw (which is what I care about) and/or good PI/clerkship positions you need to KNOW you have to make top 20% of shit will hit the fan. So all the rest doesn't matter.

Considering that it is such a large scholly, I think it's worth it for a lot of people. Assuming the bottom 3rd of the class would be in poor shape for getting a job anyway, it's not a good deal.

My take is that below 20-25 percent will have a tough time getting a job in any school 20-30 (maybe 15-20 as well?) so I would worry about that more than about loosing the scholly. Yah paying for LS is extremely important but more important (IMHO) is being in position to find. JD required job you'll start right after graduation.

Yeah, it's just added pressure of falling out of the rankings. In addition to not finding a job, suddenly your tuition has multiplied and you're even deeper in the hole. A double whammy.

I think what's being implied is that if you fall that far down the line you should seriously consider withdrawing.

Withdrew today. Did a lot of thinking this weekend and it was time. I'm trying to let go of schools that I'm no longer considering as soon as possible.

Two spots opened up for a lucky waitlist candidate then. I withdrew as well. I still think it's an awesome, awesome school and that I'd have liked the environment more than any other place but I have to do what's practical.

I bet they take a few off the waitlist. I think they may have been overly cautious on their admittance numbers given their large class size last year.
