ASU is obviously a great school, but I really don't understand their admissions process. I don't know whether it's hubris or tradition, but I can't help but think that a lot of potential students make commitments (both psychological and written) to other schools before ASU issues their decisions. That being said, it seems they continue to fill great classes. Any insight about ASU's notoriously slow process?

This is mere speculation, but I've wondered if they bank on people making decisions and withdrawing, in hopes that a good chunk of their applicant pool withdraws before decisions, in an effort to YP.

Aside from that, I can't see what the benefit is to waiting so long. They are the slowest to issue any decisions that I'm aware of.

When can RD applicants expect to see some movement, is it really as late as March?

For anyone admitted last year: Did ASU give you scholarship offer information when they gave you a decision? So for EA applicants, did you receive scholarship info on January 31? If not, how long did you have to wait for that?

Admitted 1/30 via e-mail :D . Current ASU student, AZ resident. 163/4.03 GPA. E-mail says to check snail mail for further information.

Also, my status checker didn't update, but the "Current Status Date" did change to 1/29/13, so it seems that date change may be a sign you'll be hearing from them soon. Hopefully very soon for everyone, it's taken so long!

In today via email. It sounds like we all got the same generic email stating that more information would be coming via snail mail.

I received a letter via snail-mail roughly a week or two after being notified of acceptance.

Congrats to everyone who was accepted yesterday and today!!

I just got my email, they're holding my app for consideration with regular admissions. ASU is my top choice, so a rejection later is better than a rejection today haha.

For others who are anxiously waiting, my stats are 161/3.33. Not great, but not an automatic reject! That's all I can ask for :)

Are you local? Could you schedule a visit? I would if it's possible.

Also, send a LOCI. These should help: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... =2&t=27169

If admitted, you are probably going to have to pay sticker with those numbers. ASU at sticker is a bad, bad idea--$80k just in tuition, not counting interest or COL.

Thank you very much for the advice, I am definitely sending in a LOCI. Do I just call the law admissions office to schedule a visit? I hadn't thought to do that.

Also, I was reading that some people send in additional LOR. Does anyone know if this is usual? I don't want to be a nuisance by flooding them with incoming mail.

I have thought of this, and do agree with you. I have decided to go ahead with the cycle this year and see how it pans out. I may end up retaking and trying again next cycle. Thank you for the advice.

Yea, I'd just give the admissions office a call. Let them know your application status and that you're interested in visiting the school.

I'm not too sure about the additional LOR. I can't imagine it would hold more weight than an LOCI, but it may be worth the shot. Not much to lose and everything to gain in my opinion.

I don't think you'd be considered a nuisance. A one-time phone call and application update (LOCI and LOR) couldn't pester them. Just be sure you're not calling every day/week to check your application's status

Called the admissions office today. They said that letters (with financial aid info) were scheduled to be sent "this week."
