Re: ASU c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
It took 2 weeks for my packet to come after the acceptance letter. I called the office after the first week and they explained that the email is generic, and while it said to look for the packet "next week" it could take longer.
They were nice enough to extend my deposit deadline by a week, though. Can't hurt to call... the admissions staff all seem very friendly.

So...anyone who got in 4/14 know when our deposit deadline is? I guess I'll call Monday if I haven't heard anything.

The deposit deadline is May 15th. I found out that they gave me 20k 1L and 15 K for 2L. I don't know how I should go about letting them know about my other offerstow13 wrote:So...anyone who got in 4/14 know when our deposit deadline is? I guess I'll call Monday if I haven't heard anything.

I reached out to Kathy to verify that tomorrow is still realistic for decisions. She told me they are still making decisions this week (no deadline given). So, I think its safe to say that a decision will not be given by tomorrow, for those who are still waiting.

I still haven't gotten anything and I really should call, but I hate making phone calls asking for something that I will probably get in the mail today.

So I'm thinking about visiting next week, anything I should ask/look for specifically? I am very familiar with the Phoenix area already so I'm mainly concerned with the law school facilities, students, culture etc.

I will be visiting ASU today, espressocream. If you want pics I can try to stealthily take someespressocream wrote:35k total. Pretty excited given my numbers.
They're offering me good money, I just hope the climate has mercy on a poor NE gal who doesn't know how to dress for Phoenix weather. High of 98 degrees at the end of April... yikes! I mean... yay!

Ooh I would love that. All I really care about is the library. It's how I will be determining where I go. :pmrglennicus wrote:I will be visiting ASU today, espressocream. If you want pics I can try to stealthily take someespressocream wrote:35k total. Pretty excited given my numbers.

Yeah I have a friend who goes to ASU and it's basically summer year round. I love snow too much to commit.

Re: ASU c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
what is up with this school. im an admitted student and sent an email about two weeks ago concerning my scholarship. recieved a voicemail from the dean two weekends ago to call her back. have called three times - once to receptionist (left a message with receptionist), once to voicemail (left a message), and once to disconnect. followed up with several emails. no one has gotten back to me. ridiculous. likely withdrawing tonight.

I am sorry you had such a bad experience with the admissions office. They've been nothing but prompt and accommodating with me... :/

They weren't exactly prompt with me. It took them about 5 days to get back to me after my email, but Dean Soto personally called me and was very helpful.

Is everybody on her an Arizona native? I`m looking to place in LA after graduation, but ASU's offer is hard to refuse.

withdrew last night. 60K back in the pot. their inability to get back to me after repeated attempts to contact them via email and phone regarding some questions about scholarships was extremely unprofessional and pushed me over the fence. i think the heat would have killed me anyway.

Nope, born and bred in SoCal. ASU, from what I've been told are making strides to make it easier for their grads to go to California. They have an externship there and have a headhunter over there that worked with SoCal firms for 20? years.unclepete wrote:Is everybody on her an Arizona native? According to this, only 5.7% placed in California for 2012

I think that the general consensus from previous posters was: while finding employment in Cali isn't impossible, unless you are comfortable with working and living in Phoenix post-graduation, ASU might not be the place for you.

Yeah, my decision is coming down to ASU vs. Loyola, but it's hard to turn down a #26 ranked school for a #68sublime12089 wrote:mrglennicus wrote:I think that the general consensus from previous posters was: while finding employment in Cali isn't impossible, unless you are comfortable with working and living in Phoenix post-graduation, ASU might not be the place for you.
And it will be hard with all the quality law schools in cali, especially with the way the economy is there. Competing with UCLA, USC, Stanford, Berkeley, an even UCI grads is not easy. Not to mention the several other top 50-100 schools spread throughout the state.
