i got that exact same notice after withdrawing several weeks ago. didn't know what to do with it.

EDIT: just logged into myUW - there is a message in the financial aid page saying a hold was put on the disbursement of my stafford and grad plus loans. i believe that is the change they are notifying us about - probably part of the process of getting us out of the system.

I just received the notice as well, despite withdrawing in late March. Very strange...

Still hanging out on the waitlist, uncomfortable since UW was my first choice. Saw some interesting news today about UW possibly opening a second campus: http://www.thenewstribune.com/2013/05/25/2612035/group-hopes-to-bring-law-school.html. Wish they had moved on this 10 years ago!

On Tuesday 6/11, got a phone call from Sehee at the admission office saying that they can offer me a spot but without any scholarship. It should be quite apparent that very few peoples would be willing to go at sticker price. Good to know that I can finally put this issue to end though.

Got off the waitlist last week with an offer of $20k/year. Pretty good offer, but with OOS tuition and Seattle COL it'd still be around $100k for me to attend (versus about $45-50k if I play my cards right at Utah), so I'm withdrawing. Hopefully that'll free up some money for you guys. Good luck.

I am currently filling out my app, and UW is one of my top choices... but I hear they are not friendly to low gpas. with 3.5/167 how do my chances look this cycle?

I got in last year with a 3.25/166, and that was before their rankings drop.

I am currently applying here, and getting pretty close to submitting, but still on the fence on whether or not to do the supplemental essay. I have a decent idea for the life experiences but once I started writing it came out kinda meh. Any advice from people who already applied? Do you think it is definitely a good idea to submit one, and worth taking a bit longer on my app to clean one up? Or is it not a huge deal either way? Thanks in advance

I think it depends on your numbers. If you fall safely at or above their medians, I would submit the app as is. But if you are a little below, or just REALLY want to be admitted and want to do whatever you can to increase your chances, I'd write it. I had the same experience with writing the one about life experiences. I wrote half a page or so and then scrapped the whole thing. I ended up writing on the global common good, which I felt might be good, too, since they are big on the idea of the global common good. I found that one easier to organize too. Just kind of explained what it meant to me, why I think working for it is important, and how I feel like I have contributed to it. I bet you could knock it out in a couple hours, brainstorming included.
