Same here, just got the e-mail. But with the unpredictability of this cycle, I'm going to stay on

Submitted my scholarship application today, hopefully being a bit late won't adversely affect the decision process too much.

Checking out UW from an OOS perspective... Looks as if UW is nearly impossible to gain residency at.

Students must prove conclusively that they have not come to Washington State primarily for educational purposes. Current guidelines require students who are enrolled for 7 credits or more a quarter must be employed at least 30 hours per week at a non-student job to overcome the presumption of educational purposes.

At the direction of the UW Regents the below waiver program will be discontinued effective July 1, 2012. That means that the waiver will no longer be available for any graduate or professional student who is admitted to the University and begins enrollment Autumn Quarter 2012, and after.

Is this for real? If so, this is quite an expensive option... Anyone care to shed some light?

It's true. Washington state basically won't allow you to get residency for educational purposes only, from what I remember you have to live there at least a year without going to school to get residency. I went to undergrad in WA and paid OOS the whole time.

Dear god... Welp, thanks for the info. I have this bad feeling that I'm gonna tour the beautiful law school again and still not care about COA. Which is probably a foolish thing. :|

From viewing last year's thread, it looks like they didn't admit too many off of the WL. They cut a lot of people the first week in May, admitted a very small amount, and kept a few on throughout the entire summer.

As of right now I'm planning on waiting out the waitlist until the bitter end, whenever that may be. However, I'm reasonably sure I got on the list because I applied in like January. Also, I am not concerned about scholarship money as I will get in state tuition and can life at my house. (just across the 520 bridge) 8)

Good luck!

My family already owns a house in WA, what else would we need for residency? Bills?

Just received a 15k total scholarship award, so it looks like they're going out now.

Yeah, someone else commented that it sounded low to them. But, I am in-state so that brings tuition down to a little under 24k a year. Maybe they thought that was enough?
