I finally stopped being lazy and joined the facebook group (my username isn't super stealthy so it's pretty obvious who I am :)).

Couple of notes from the past day or so:

I hate being that guy who either shows up over-dressed or shows up under-dressed so I have to ask... How formal or informal is ASW?

Wisc Law. Great question! While the Friday night event is not formal, a lot of students wear dressy casual or business casual. However, feel free to dress comfortably! The Saturday programming especially is meant to be informal and casual. If you are attending the LEO Banquet though, you should be ready to sport your cocktail attire since it is a bit dressier!

Looks like there is reading material for the "mock class" on Saturday of admitted students weekend...just saw it on the website for the event!

I joined the FB student group also. I had to join FB to do that, haha.

So about reading material for "mock" class.. I'm guessing from other forums, that paying too much attention, reading this too much and asking questions is going to label you a gunner. :)

I have no real answer but my guess would be no, especially if you're only borderline below 25th on the medians. They were so slow in general that I'm thinking movement is imminent, especially as a bunch of deposit dates at other schools pass this week/next week.

Sorry to be absent from the boards. Sounds like people are looking forward to ASW. I'm glad to see other "experienced" (*cough* old *cough*) applicants besides myself there. Looking forward to meeting you guys. My boss is joking about me getting a pink scooter for commuting like all the cool kids do these days. Personally, I'm probably rollerblading to class. We are coming in early tomorrow to view some apartments as well.

Definitely take a look at some of the buildings on Sheboygan Ave. I lived there until I got extra cool and moved back in with my parents (it's not the basement, man, it's a finished lower level) and it's juuuust far enough out to be a little quieter but still easy to get to campus. I think every bus on the west side stops somewhere on Sheboygan. If you don't have to have cats then check out the large red brick buildings first - gorgeous units and washer/dryer hookup.

Ok kids, who was there tonight? Skipped bar review, am an old.

I'm pretty sure I met brian_music. Not sure about the rest of you.

It was interesting to suddenly be surrounded by folks who applied to law schools sans-TLS. Kinda scary. In case anyone I talked to is here. Hi! Links in the first post are still relevant.

Just got back from ASW (flights and things) and I had a very good time. I realize the point of the weekend was to woo us, but they did honestly seem to care about us as students and our success after law school. I also had a great time in the mock class. I'm not sure if I met anyone fellow TLSers but who knows... :) I'd love to hear additional opinions on the weekend!

Also, just a quick question for those of you who were also there. I felt like I met a lot of students whose parent's had graduated from the law school (I'm one myself). Did anyone else get this impression or was my (admittedly small) sample just biased?

Just got back, myself. I particularly enjoyed the mock class and the library tour. And Tom Cruise breaking it down for us :). Met some pretty cool folks, too, and walked about 6 miles around Madison yesterday after the ASW.

I thought the weekend was great. Everyone I talked to seemed sharp, happy to be there and genuinely concerned with the students and helping them make a decision. I thought the school's facilities were very nice.

I was in a little "holy shit I'm going to law school" daze, but overall I thought the weekend was good. The students were really honest which was nice.

fbmelms - I don't think I got a confirmation but I did get a call from the dean after I filled the form out, so I do think it triggers stuff in their system. I paid the seat deposit today and I did get a confirmation for that.

Get used to it? Maybe. Learn to enjoy it? Much less likely.
