I feel your pain, this was me earlier in this thread. Except you guys have the added fun of other school's deposit deadlines. UW Madison really does seem to get the award for slowest law school in at least the top 100. Even though I'm sitting at a good outcome most of the process was ridiculous and unprofessional.

I would email them and indicate that if you don't hear before X or Y deadline you plan to withdraw. I imagine that should get some movement because if you're in at MN then WI absolutely needs/wants your numbers.

I second this. I was "under review" for 10 weeks until I finally emailed them asking if something was up. I had an acceptance two days later. Contacting them seems to be a way to get some response.

under review 1/23 and still no response so it looks like a reject and I need to move on. Withdrew from Iowa and down to Minnesota and Indiana- deadlines approaching.

I'm under review as of the same date. I should be an easy admit here.

Just as slow as the rest of the process, unfortunately. If the last two weeks are a good indication the scholarship committee is meeting every Thursday and emails are going out either late Thursday or on Friday.

Let them know if you're working with an April 1 deadline from another school but, unfortunately, it seems like if the scholarship committee hasn't reviewed your file there isn't a lot Dean Scheller can do.

Try these. They are good resources.

Campus Area Housing - Run by the university, this site lets you pick a specific area, price range, etc. It's very specific and helpful.

Campus/Downtown Living - Essentially every rental in Madison, separated by area. This is great if you don't mind sifting.

It looks like business casual for Friday and general casual (but still nice) for Saturday except for that banquet thingy. For those coming from the east coast - take whatever is in your head and then go one or two steps more casual. WI is a very casual place

If you decide to stay not on campus look to the west side/Middleton so I can drop you off on my way home

I got a decent room at the Hyatt ($125), best I could do. I'm gonna keep trying that doubletree though throughout the week.

All the time, even when my younger (but older looking) sis doesn't.

I don't drink but also get carded when I'm designating "just in case" because some places around campus are twitchy about carding everyone at the table.

How so? I ask only because I spent an afternoon in Ithaca and it struck me as very much like Madison. It kind of had the same vibe except with a tinge of East Coast Cool rather than Midwestern folksiness. Their downtown had a similar vibe to State Street, etc.

No, I didn't mean it sarcastically. I don' know and can't comment on your experiences, but as someone who has lived in both places for extended periods of time I honestly do see many similarities in the cultural interests and general lifestyle of both cities. Of course there are differences, Ithaca is much smaller than Madison and so has fewer opportunities and just a... smaller feeling. There are certainly parts of Madison that I don't see parallels for in Ithaca. However, I have found it's hard to come from one location and spend much time in the other without being stuck by things that feel like home. As annet said, they have a similar vibe.

I would be interested to hear (really) why you disagree so strongly.
