Off the WL and got in today by e-mail too. No mentioning of scholarship in the e-mail, called the admission office and be told if the e-mail didn't mention $ then there is no $.
Kinda sad now, since it is no way for me to pay sticker for GW even I really like it

I am still in disbelief. I think the campus visit after being WL'd definitely helped.

Re: George Washington c/o 2016
I never contacted the admission office after be waitlisted. Actually when I replied to their e-mail last week asking if I am still interested I said " yes , but I won't go unless you give me lots of money.'
Surprisingly they still accept me with no money, I hate this kind of dilemma.

If they give you until May 10th, it's worth trying to squeeze money out of them. There's no harm in trying!

I already sent them an e-mail to negotiate money, but seems GW is not that easy on money.gatorgirl2012 wrote:If they give you until May 10th, it's worth trying to squeeze money out of them. There's no harm in trying!
Meanwhile I am googling" how to make 200k in 3 months "now, those organ trafficking websites are just keeping on poping up .

Accepted with no merit scholarship in early March, asked for scholarship reconsideration 3 weeks ago and heard back today that I'm getting $15k per year
Still expensive but definitely makes it more attractive

For the poster who asked about the acceptance letter.... by far the best received. The kind of thing your mom will want to keep as a memento.
For those asking about money, have you applied for the need-based grant? you can qualify for up to 16,000 a
year (it's a one time grant but you can re-apply each year and, as I understand it, usually get a comperable amount as long as your income hasn't drastically changed.
Also, I received a 10k scholarship AFTER submitting my seat deposit. I wouldn't count on getting it, but I'm willing to bet they're not going to be real motivated to negotiate until they see some kind of commitment from you that they're not just being leveraged against some other school.
congrats all the same. I considered it a great honor to be accepted, and even if you decide against going, that can't be taken away.
For those that do accept the offer... I'll see you in fall! But you best be ready to bust ya ass cause i'm not settling on just doing well myself, I want this to be the class that 5 years after graduation is so dominant in the profession we elevate GW to the ranks of the T14!

I asked before the deposit and was told that I would be reconsidered at the end of the month. Had to gamble and deposit w/o any scholarshipNewYorkL wrote:Was that before or after the deposit?mjp3 wrote:Accepted with no merit scholarship in early March, asked for scholarship reconsideration 3 weeks ago and heard back today that I'm getting $15k per year

Congrats to all who got in off of the waitlist!!
Since people have already started to hear from admissions, I feel extremely pessimistic about getting in at this point =/

Do you live close by? Is there any way you can stop in for a campus visit?assheawaits wrote:Congrats to all who got in off of the waitlist!!

Sadreversesplitter,
I actually live quite far, NYC, but I still
Paid them a visit after I found out I got wait listed and included the visit in my LOCI afterwards.

WL question: are they going to contact us regardless to let us know that they are not giving a seat off the WL or just ignore us altogether?

Current GW 1L. Accepted 4/28 last year off the WL. Ended up with 22k/year after negotiating. Talked with Sophia Sim (not sure if she is still there) and went from 0 initially to 16k then 22k. My deposit deadline was extended multiple times while negotiating - I didn't deposit until the end of May.

Could you post how you did this? Or PM me if you are more comfortable. I am trying to figure out a game plan now.squid2211 wrote:Current GW 1L. Accepted 4/28 last year off the WL. Does anyone know what the chances of us receiving the same financial aid package every year is? It scares me that it isn't guaranteed..

I think you are doing all the right things. The visit will only help. Did you receive the WL update email from last week or the week prior?assheawaits wrote:Sadreversesplitter,

GW kicked up my initial award upon reconsideration. 90% chance I'll be attending this fall!

Re: George Washington c/o 2016
Never responded to email asking if those on the WL are still interested because after all of this time I started to have cold feet about moving to DC. Ironically, I've become considerably more interested in certain academic aspects of GWU. Now I'm afraid to write anything at all so late because it will be seen as feigning interest.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
