Is it safe to say with W&M that if you don't get accepted in an extremely speedy manner (i.e. 1 day to 2 weeks from when you went in review) that you're probably destined for a WL/Ding? Has anyone who has been accepted thus far waited very long at all?

My letter says: "...You will be assigned in your first year to work within the Law School administration and Law Library departments. ... During your second and third years as a Graduate Fellow, you may be assigned to work on research projects with a member of the law faculty, or you may choose to continue to work administratively."kuttlefish wrote:My letter didn't say anything about the Wolf Law Librarian fellowship, nor do I have an MS, so I'm pretty sure I didn't get that one. Good luck to you!steakandchicken wrote: Thanks! I hope the Wolf Law Librarian fellowship has some opportunities to do more professional things since it requires the MS in information science. Putting books back on the shelf, while a zen activity, won't add to my resume at all.
My background is in IT along with some computer lab type jobs when I first left undergrad... that's why I was hoping for the tech center job.
My impression is that I got one of the generic fellowships that will involve putting books on shelves and stuffing envelopes, etc. My thought/hope is that everyone starts this way and that they move you to the more specialized positions in your 2L and 3L years. I was just wondering if I was locked out of the tech-center altogether.
When I visit, I'll probably ask about how difficult it is to be assigned to do research with a member of the faculty. I would definitely be interested in an opportunity like that.

Yep, and congratulations! Packet took about 4 days to get to me - USPS priority mail envelope - and you'll get a call from the dean within a week or so (757 area code)ceweiss10 wrote: Financial Aid info is in the packet, right?

I'm beginning to think W&M forgot that I applied. Or lost my application. Or forgot to send me the rejection email.

Got an email from a W&M alumn working for Skadden in NYC this morning offering to meet up for a chat about the school.
I have to say, they seem to be working pretty hard to protect their yield this year.

I applied on November 29, 2012 with 3.59 GPA and 165 LSAT and was accepted yesterday December 19. My co-worker with similar/a little better stats applied one day later, and has not heard back yet.

No kidding, will certainly be taking him up on the offer. I'm interested to hear where in his class he graduated.teachmehowtoraji wrote:nmlf16 wrote:Skadden. Wow.ks2499 wrote:Got an email from a W&M alumn working for Skadden in NYC this morning offering to meet up for a chat about the school.

Same here. I should start filtering these messages for either "Congratulations!" or "Acceptance". Anything without those words is just cruel spam (although I did appreciate the content).UMich11 wrote:just hit with a season's greetings email.

That's the second email they sent me today. I love the school but they're sending me almost as many emails as Regent now that I'm in.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
