It looks like they're aiming for a 167 LSAT75. So, yeah, I think you're good.anteater1 wrote:stoked at my prospects if they gave you this much.WhatOurBodiesAreFor wrote:$120K!!! Woah.

Re: USC c/o 2016 Applicants
USC has been my only acceptance in the cycle thus far (i'm just a undergrad at Duke/ URM) haven't heard from anyone else (with exception of a hold at Northwestern). 15K of my scholarship was awarded to me through one of their minority alum networks, but received my 120k through student portal this afternoon.zman wrote:what are your stats? this must be something new. besides the rothman USC did not give anything over 120. I'm a bit surprised USC is throwing money at people who got into top 10 schools, I expected them to throw money at 167 to defend their median. This is risky tactics.dukie4 wrote:45 a year yesssssssss

Re: the $ given out today....the Rothman app was due only 4 days ago. I really don't think they could have read and decided "no" already on your apps, guys, particularly if the tidbit I posted (about there being 350 from 2010's cycle) applies to this cycle. Even if it doesn't and we just assume 25% decrease, that's still hundreds of Rothman invites to review...I'd say you're not out of the running and to not worry, if anything they'd just bump it up from 120k to the full amount+stipend.

Re: USC c/o 2016 Applicants
I am sitting with no decision and with a 168/3.9 I got a full tuition at Iowa, and 45K at UCLA. USC looks to be my top choice at this time, especially if they give me 120k and get me the LLM program at LSE. I have been accepted at GULC and GW but I don't think they will give me that much? thoughts anyone.

Finally at committee 1st read after being complete since 11/5. I was starting to think I was an auto-reject.

I think someone posted a couple pages back that LSE dropped their LL.M partnership with USC last year and offers it through CLS instead now.uconjak wrote:I am sitting with no decision and with a 168/3.9 I got a full tuition at Iowa, and 45K at UCLA. The money thrown around at 167s is intriguing (showing they really love their medians). Wonder what this bodes for us 166'ers? (really wishing i scored 1 point higher now though..)

I actually think its pretty clear what is up: they've given up on the 168 LSAT75 and they're shooting for locking down a 167.mcs268 wrote:The money thrown around at 167s is intriguing (showing they really love their medians). The non-numbers portion of my app is decent but the only way I can explain getting the 120K is my being at/above their 75th percentile goals.
The other possibility is my being at a median and at the other 75. But I really doubt they'd throw 120K at me just for that.

not gonna lie, if i were lucky enough to get 120k from USC and am still staring down boalt at sticker (a very likely possibility with cali's economy), i think i would happily become a trojan. FIGHT ON!

well it's almost february so you should hear any day. They might think you are not going to seriously consider them so therefore they don't want to waste time with you. with a 168 and a 3.9 you have a decent chance as high as Columbia..

90k for me. this is becoming a log-jam of the same amount of $$$ for me in T-20 schools (UCLA, USC, UT, UMN). I know they don't, but I feel like they talk to each other or something.

Hmmm... So should we be considering the possibility that USC might drop out of the T20?! If they've already lowered their bar at this point?! I personally wouldn't care. USC is still USC and 120k is still 120k. that's not likely, if anything USC might pass Vanderbilt. median GPA has been going up and and ahead of vanderbilt last cycle and better big law number ahead of Vanderbilt again.wbrother wrote:Hmmm... Re: USC c/o 2016 Applicants
I doubt that, but I'm pulling it out of my ass. Small movements in the rankings are basically random so even if it did drop out of the T20 I don't think that would be a big deal. As you said, USC is still USC.wbrother wrote:Hmmm... So should we be considering the possibility that USC might drop out of the T20?! If they've already lowered their bar at this point?! Re: USC c/o 2016 Applicants
Here's to predicting an LSAT median drop to 166. They're doing everything they can do get 167s by giving them great scholarships, but I think if they're being smart they'll let more 166s in than usual to allow for a 166 median fallback, which wouldn't be awful.

Re: USC c/o 2016 Applicants
I think he is a little confused. 167 is the USC median and NOT 168( if it went up to 168, USC would probably pass Vanderbilt). I think the previous poster was might have been suggesting that USC might have considered targeting a 168 median but backed off.

I'm 173/3.6ish, completed in October but just now in 2nd read... I keep getting this feeling that USC has something against me! Those 120K offers sound pretty good right about now...
