Our class size is at 284 right now but I think it started at 290

Nice, I'd love for it to drop some more. The class of 2012's 333 students is just way too much.

What's your opinion on the class sizes? I wish they broke them up into smaller sections.

I have bad news for you. Class of 2013 is at 349. We started right around 300. UF takes a ton of transfer students.

As for sections, the size is on your side. Depending how your professor treats the curve, there is more wiggle room at the top with a class size of around 100.

Booo, lol. I don't think I get what you mean about the curve. Could you elaborate?

After thinking about it for a few minutes I take it back. What I meant was in a class of 100 you're more likely to have 3-5 people that are going to perform below average, so it gives a little more room for A's/A-'s at the top of the curve. But I guess percentage wise it's about the same.

Here's the grade breakdown from my 1L torts class. If I cleaned out my email more often I wouldn't have this, so hooray for slacking?

The grade distribution was as follows (putting the class average just below the 3.25 maximum allowed):

A (12), A- (16), B+ (28), B (31), B- (11), C+ (3), C (1)

Since 15 people scored well below the average it gave him more room to give A's/A-'s.

Hooray for being slackers!! That's actually some pretty helpful information. Thanks.

On another note: is anyone else thinking about switching phones? I currently have an iPhone but I was so much time on it. I can drain the battery on a day I should be studying and going to class such as right now I have my book infront of me but this device is so easy and quick to use, I have no control. And one think it would be a good idea to switch to a simple phone? Also anyone else going to deactivate their Facebook? Or give a friend their password and have their time limited. I currently waste so much time between those two things, I think my time could be spent better during law school getting actual social interaction rather than the superficial interaction over Facebook. Anyone feel this way?

Haha. I actually do feel this way too. Social media can be a tremendous waste of time!!! Facebook should have a self-lock-out feature, where you could self-exclude for periods of an hour, a few hours, a day, a week, a month, etc. I don't know about giving a friend a password to lock me out or deactivating, but it would be nice to develop some more discipline and restraint. Lol.

I think I'm going to need one as well.

Also, just a PSA to visiting/auditing students. Please don't answer a question in class during your visit. Everyone will hate you.

Haha yea, the kid is one of my good friends and he will be my roommate next year. I want to do good so I can get a scholly after 1L year. Does anyone know how hard that is to do and the requirements?

Dude, you have to bring it down a couple of notches. You will seriously burn out 1L if you keep this kind of intensity up.

As far as phone, I'm about to get rid of my EVO 4G (which has always had terrible battery life, even with replacement batteries). The problem with switching to a non-smartphone is the monthly plans. They used to hover around $40-50 a month, but last I checked Sprint and AT&T wanted around $60-70 (Miami). Makes it pretty much not worth it IMO.

What carriers have the best reception in Gainesville and around the campus?

AT&T has LTE service in Gainesville it's pretty fast. And the coverage is pretty good except in some buildings but I think that's with all the carriers.

To any Continuum residents: do they actually have decent specials? I clicked the "current specials" tab, and it said to check back for current specials.

Considering Monday is April 1st, I'm getting really concerned that I don't have a decision yet. Are any of you still waiting decisions? Mine was reviewed in February but no decision was reached :?

I was reviewed in Feb and still no decision. They will continue to give decisions through the end of April. Worst case scenario we have four weeks left :)

WOW I just realized they don't have the typical April 15 deadline. This is agonizing.

It just came in the mail. And it was no badly put together. It could of been better but then again it's better than what they did for undergrad when they just told you online. Overall there could of been an information booklet or something, but that would not affect my choice since I only applied to UF, so I have no other choices lol. Also if a booklet is the biggest factor than I feel sorry for you

STRAIGHT TALK!!! $45 for unlimited talk, text, and web works great with my galaxys3 and I sometimes reload for $35.00 when people sell their reload cards on ebay. works great in florida!

its in its own area, not too far from the law school campus. Im an undergrad now and I go there. Its amazing. there are other gyms but southwest rec is the best. you can check it out online. theres everything you could need inside plus softball/baseball fields, tennis, football, soccer fields and more.

You have to go to sw late at night or early morning otherwise it is packed. Even at 10:30 at night it is decently packed but it is a nice gym.

I've gone at every hour of the day and never had an access issue. Maybe the occasional wait for a squat rack.

Southwest Rec is among the top five things I miss about gainesville. No joke.
