Under Initial Review... will probably be under initial review until they start sending out rejection letters. LSAT: 153 :(((((((( Someone kill me. GPA: 3.5 Bachelors and Masters in Accounting when I graduate from UF in 2013. Internship at US Attorney's Office. Good Letters of Rec from US Attorney, Chief of Police Clearwater, and two accounting professors. IF ONLY ANY OF THAT MATTERED!!!!! :( Maybe I'll get an accounting job next year and retake the LSAT next year after I graduate. :( Wish me luck!!! I have about a 3% chance of getting admitted to UF. Got accepted to Stetson Law but I'm not sure if I want to go. Wish I was better at the LSAT! Good luck guys. Gainesville is awesome.

I did the supplemental application and everything. Is this a status that everyone sits on for a while, or should I call on Monday to figure out what I didn't do?

Also, congrats to people with early acceptances.

Mine had the same status while they were waiting for my Oct. LSAT score. Are you registered for a future LSAT?

Ah, that'll be it. I'm registered for December. Thanks Slaw.

Not to be a downer, but your chances are very slim =/. You should definitely re-take. I applied last cycle with that exact LSAT and got rejected everywhere worth attending. I re-took and scored 9 points higher and have already been accepted into a top-40 school. I wish you luck, but don't get discouraged if this cycle doesn't work out. Not everyone is capable of re-taking and scoring 170+, but a 160+ is definitely achievable if you put in the time.

Ya I know :/ ....Getting accepted would be a miracle. My Dad and Brother are both lawyers so I have realistic expectations haha. Thanks for the encouragement! :) I was pretty depressed after the LSAT but I'm OK now... will just have to try again next year.

If you have decent connections and have the financial means that would allow you to avoid taking on much debt, Stetson might be a fine option for you. According to law school transparency, Stetson grads don't do as poorly as you might assume given the rankings (53.4 employment score vs. UF's 58.7).

I wouldn't take on significant debt to go to Stetson, but it's not a terrible option if you want to practice in Florida.

That said, you can definitely improve to 160+ on the LSAT and improve your options. Invest in a course (powerscore, velocity, etc), read the "bibles," do 20+ full-length, timed PT's. You'll be good to go.

Best of luck.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. Much needed every once and a while. Still weighing my options with Stetson and stuff... so expensive.... but we'll see..... THANKS!!!! Most probably going to try to take the LSAT again next semester.

Everyone on here who had this status received a decision very shortly after. Hopefully the same goes for us. Good luck!

I met the director of admissions when she came to my school for a law school fair earlier in the semester. I got the same status on 11/19 and I emailed her about it; she said they hold a lot of applications this early in the cycle to see what other applicants they get, and it could be a while before they notify you with a final decision. Sorry, I don't mean to be a downer! She did say though that it's nothing to be concerned about; you can still get accepted, it just means they want to wait a bit before giving you a yes and see what else comes their way.

My numbers are 158/3.95 and I'm a FL resident. Hope this helps!

Yeah, i think it definitely depends on your numbers, but even auto-admits go through this status as well. I applied last year with a much lower LSAT and was on "No Decision Reached" for about a week before getting dinged. Feeling pretty good this time around, good luck!

Totally agree. If you're not in or above their "bubble," you're going to get put on hold. Good luck to you too!

As for everyone else who has been accepted, if you haven't already posted, would you mind posting your numbers? I'm a little curious as exactly what they're accepting right away.

If my app was received last Wednesday the day before thanksgiving. When do you think it will be reviewed? Also does anyone know if you can retake the LSAT in February if your application was reviewed but no decision reached by the end of December?

I just thought I'd throw my $.02; no matter where you go, a good bump in LSAT could earn you tens of thousands in scholly money. Combine that with saving for a year and you could be setting yourself up for a much more manageable debt-load after graduation.

Of course, this is simply food for though. I'm sure you are anxious to get into law school and be an attorney already, as am I. :)

Status just changed to under initial review by committee. Anyone know how long till it changed again. The October LSAT score wait ate away at me pretty badly.

I was under review for 7 days & then switched to "No Decision Reached" yesterday.

Anyone switch from NDR to Decision Reached yet? (excluding everyone who already said they were in, of course)

Some people said it went from ndr to decision rendered earlier in the trend

For those of you who have been accepted, does anyone know what the deal is with merit scholarships? From the papers that came with my admissions decision this is the only information that I can find:

"Merit-Based Scholarships: Scholarships are awarded through March 2013. No additional application required. Recipients will be notified by mail."

I understand they have probably left this intentionally vague in order to give them more space with awarding scholarships and waiting until more people have applied. Nevertheless, does anyone know when one should expect to hear about a merit-based scholarship or has someone already been offered one?

Thank you,

Thank you,

Last year there were essentially two major batches of scholarships, with some stragglers coming in later. The first one was in mid-December, and the second was in mid-January. As I said, more came later but they were few and far between.

Plenty of people who expect scholarship aid won't get any, and some who don't or shouldn't expect any will get some. They're just random, and tend to favor auto-admits with 165+ LSAT scores. OOS students seemed to receive higher awards than in-state students with similar numbers.

The awards ranged from 18k-42k total. No full rides.

With all due respect to UF, they're about as stingy as it gets when it comes to merit-aid. The attitude seems to be that the in-state tuition is cheap enough and we'd all be lucky to pay full-price, whatever that happens to be, for the next three years.
