UF Law School applications are down 30% so far this year and Law Schools applications around the country are down drastically. Honestly, for us who are applying this cycle-we are in a good position due to its not as competitive with the application volume being down. Sad part- please don't raise tuition anymore....(i.e. UF!!!)

Also, I called admissions and asked when those of us who have been NDR for a long time can expect a decision. They told me the vast majority of decisions are sent out in March and into April. -__-

A really close friend of mine works in the Presidents office at UF (truly reliable). I was told NDR club should be thining out in Feb and majority of the letters will be out in March. Lets just enjoy the music while we are in here. Next round on me! lol

I would like to inform you that the Levin College of Law’s Financial Aid Committee has changed the minimum requirement for renewing scholarship or grant awards from a 2.80 GPA to “academic good standing”. Please review the “rules for retention” below that apply to renewable scholarships and grants.

1. To renew an award, the recipient must be in academic good standing. To be in academic good standing, the recipient must maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average.

2. The 2.0 cumulative grade point average must be maintained throughout law school, except that one probationary semester is allowed to a recipient of an award who fails to maintain the required 2.0 cumulative grade point average. The award will be continued during the probationary semester."

How long after receiving the original admission packet did you receive scholarship information?

I just received two packages from UF yesterday - a handwritten letter and a UF Law magazine. Both very nice gestures, but I was really hoping for a scholarship letter.

Probably, cuz i'd definitely take a bigger scholly in exchange for that stipulation.

Someone else expressed concern about not receiving a scholarship award despite having high numbers. It almost seems like they are low on money. Maybe they are removing stips for the people that they wish they could give more to? I don't even pretend to know the thought processes of adcoms anymore. I'm retired.

It is my understanding UF has always been stingy with scholarship money. Part of this is due to the fact that in-state tuition is relatively cheap. It will be interesting to see if they are more or less conservative with money, given this cycle's unique circumstances. I can't recall anyone on this thread boasting about large offers yet and LSN seems to support this too. I will say it seems that FSU has been more aggressive with their scholarship money to this point, a fact that UF will have to account for. Here's hoping the well's not dry.
