I'm not OOS, but I've also been NDR for a while, about a month and a half. Hopefully now that the new LSAT scores are out we'll start to see some movement soon. Not sure about how much your residency will affect your app, you should have a solid shot, though.grantev wrote:Any other OOS applicants on the thread? I'm from Michigan, but UF is one of my top picks. Submitted 12/14, then NDR on 12/19. I saw that only about 10% of each class is OOS, so I'm pretty nervous. Numbers are 3.6/161. I think I remember reading somewhere that they claim not to evaluate apps any differently based on residency, but I have a hard time believing that.

Anyone have any actively since Christmas. I heard lots of acceptances come out this month, based on the past.

That's weird, the statuses normally change on Mondays. Are your numbers auto admit numbers maybe they are going to send out a bunch of acceptances this Monday.North wrote:Went to NDR today.

I was surprised too. Went UIR yesterday, even. I suppose I'm an auto-admit (3.3/173, FL resident), but they've also been holding my app since mid-November because I retook a 168 in December. They could be moving me quickly for either reason, I guess.

Yea that 5 point bump can from an already high score can help a lot. A lot of people go NDR before they get a decision. Your an auto admit they probably waited because of your retake.North wrote:I was surprised too. Went UIR yesterday, even. It doesn't seem like they are changing the majority of statues on Mondays this cycle. I don't know if that is something they did last cycle, but it seems like most people ITT and on LSN have been getting status changes on all different days.

Everyone goes to NDR, regardless of #'s, it seems to be a procedural thing. Now the amount of time at NDR varies depending on #'s.

Hi all,
Joining the UF bandwagon probably in next week or so, hope it's not too late.
I was wondering if anyone was able to solicit a merit-based fee waiver from UF recently? I just got a nice email from the admissions today saying that they are unable to grant me one, I hope this doesn't really mean anything.. btw 164/3.35 is my number
Anyways, glad to join you all and really looking forward to share this grueling LS experience with you all

Don't read into it, I don't think anyone has succeeded in soliciting a waiver.Makguli wrote:Hi all,

Current 1L happy to answer any questions. New account so nobody tracks me down from 0L posts.
App Numbers: 166 LSAT, 3.5GPA, solid scholarship.
Just got our grades back Monday (but not class ranks), it looks like I'll be in the top 25%.
Ask away.

Re: UF Class of 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
I used supplements from day one. I knew that class doesn't actually matter, so I approached school from the perspective of "if it isn't going to help me on the exam, it isn't relevant".North wrote:Nice. I stopped briefing after the first two weeks. I found that knowing the cases is useful only because it can serve to jog your memory about certain theories. Example: "Is this contract within the statute of frauds? Well I know that in the case of Bob vs. Tom, an oral contract for the sale of interest in real property was found enforceable because Bob had taken possession and made permanent improvements, so let's see how that applies here" (That's a very formal paraphrasing of my actual thought process: "Well I remember how Bob fucked over Tom in Bob vs. Tom, let's throw that at this fact pattern because why the fuck not").
That's just what I did. As with all advice you get in law school, take it with a grain of salt. Everyone has to find out what works for them. And not every upperclassman got good grades, so consider the source of the advice you get. I'm no authority on booking classes, for example.

I wouldn't worry too much. If you look at page 8 of this thread sofl_law was admitted with a 158/3.99 and received a 36k scholarship.Bubbles20 wrote:Submitted december

No disrespect to sofl_law, but he/she is a URM. That should be taken into account when considering this admission and scholarship offer.whisky wrote:I wouldn't worry too much. Whoops missed that. I would still bet that bubbles gets in. I know a current non-urm 1L with 158 lsat and slightly lower gpa. Nothing too special as far as softs go. I think they will really like the 3.99.Aroldis105 wrote:No disrespect to sofl_law, but he/she is a URM. Has anyone who was NDR before the new year seen any movement yet? I've been NDR for almost 2 months now and I'm losing patience!

More prestige with high LSAT than high GPA, but I guess they need some of those to make up for us splitter UG slackerswhisky wrote: Whoops missed that. I would still bet that bubbles gets in. Based on last year's thread, it seems like people with ~median numbers who have been NDR still have a while to wait. I'd be surprised if I heard back before March, but I'm still checking my status somewhat obsessively.eas09d wrote:Has anyone who was NDR before the new year seen any movement yet? As someone who is OOS and right around medians, I'm hoping they don't reject me for yield protection. I didn't really specify "why Florida" in my PS, so I'm wondering whether a LOCI would help me.

Re: UF Class of 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
I called after I posted this and they told me to just be patient and that they are reviewing NDR files constantly and comparing them to new applicants (tell me something I don't know). But she also looked at my numbers and told me not to worry, and that things should start moving faster as the March application deadline approaches. She also said that I could submit more information if I wanted, not necessarily a LCI though because I'm not wait listed. Not really sure what I would say except how great their programs look etc. and why I want to go there so badly! lol thoughts?slawww wrote:Same boat, I've been NDR for about 2 months as well, I'm over waiting.eas09d wrote:Has anyone who was NDR before the new year seen any movement yet? For those of you who have received a scholarship offer, were they sent separately from the admit packet?
