Uh...I don't know if you want to see pics of the law school. Mondale Hall/the whole West Bank of campus is not exactly what I'd call beautiful; it was built in 60s/70s and looks the part (source: 75% of my classes were on that part of campus). East Campus is pretty though, and obv the whole city is verdant and gorgeous. The law school's library is a good place for being productive, and if you want the Ivy-style collegiate reference room the science library is open and beautiful (and pretty quiet).

Edit: DAMMIT NOW I'M ALL NOSTALGIC AND IT'S AFFECTING MY DECISION-MAKING.

Acceptance packet just came in the mail. Pretty cool folder with a window decal in it, but Dan told me on the phone that they're offering me 30k/yr, and the letter says 28. Womp womp.

Just an FYI, tried negotiating Scholly $$$ with UMN and they politely told me that the maximum I would receive from them was my initial offer.

I think we have pretty similar numbers and that was my offer too. Where are you located/ when did they call you? Trying to gauge when I can hope to recieve the package.

Minnesota just informed me that they do not negotiate scholarships, and that they present their best offer at time of admission.

Understandable but disappointing. 3.3/167, for those interested.

I have a tough decision to make.

Assuming $650/month for rent (completely reasonable), $200/month for utilities (generous), and $300/month for food (generous), that still leaves you almost $250/month or ~$65/week for "going out." You'll survive.

Same here. Tried at a couple of points throughout the day, but no dice. I'll call them tomorrow if it continues.
