Yeah as is, I'm going to be asking some family to help front the deposit money for Vandy at least until I get the ASP reimbursement back (I was hoping to have it this week). It's hard to think about swallowing another deposit for nothing though...

The deposit form doesn't make any mention of it being binding, but having only the single deposit makes me wonder.

Also, I know the official word is they don't negotiate, and most people have not had any luck with it, but has anyone had success or recall seeing someone else have success?
You can always try, but personally, I think the chances are so slim that it's not worth throwing away the $750 deposit.
I'm almost certainly going to Vandy, I'm just wondering if it would be worth another deposit elsewhere to try and squeeze even a couple grand out of them.
It's rare, but people have successfully negotiated in the past. That said, depositing won't do much to tip the scales in your favor. If you already told them your schollys from other schools and they won't negotiate, don't throw your money anyway.

Not worth it. Would rather take money from a lower ranked school, or attend a higher ranked school if I absolutely had to pay sticker (and was able to get into a higher ranked school, of course). The debt just isn't worth it.

I'm sure there are many people who get in off the waitlist and attend with that much or less. Looking at LSN, they don't snag too many of the people that get offered the big scholarships.

I went the first ASW (3/15) and 6 weeks later I still have not received the reimbursement. I went to another school's ASW on 4/5 and received my reimbursement from them last week - not sure what the holdup is with Vandy.

Hmm why not call them and find out. I'm surprised that you didn't get it yet, so it doesn't hurt to call and check. I received my reimbursement over 3 weeks ago.

yeah, no reimbursement for my March ASW visit either...at least we're all held up instead of individuals slipping through the cracks or something.
