Vanderbilt officially does not negotiate scholarships. I tried and that's what an admissions officer told me. Sad face

It's probably 12 weeks after they start reviewing applications or something. Although, the first wave of decisions went out right after I went complete.zz888 wrote:alwayssunnyinfl wrote:Yeah, this is my 19th week.Iamnotworthy wrote:I am at 20 weeks complete

They have been offering less than all their peers (UCLA, USC, UT). I bet they will soften this stance if they actually want to fill a class.shntn wrote:FrankGallagher wrote:Vanderbilt officially does not negotiate scholarships. I tried and that's what an admissions officer told me. Sad face

No!!!! Now my last hope is for them to realize how poor I am, take pity, and make it rain!shntn wrote:FrankGallagher wrote:Vanderbilt officially does not negotiate scholarships. I tried and that's what an admissions officer told me. Sad face

Nooooo Maybe they'll consider later in the cycle? Also wonder how they view a June LSAT. Considering retaking just to see if it's higher, then asking for money if it is. Can't hurt right?FrankGallagher wrote:Vanderbilt officially does not negotiate scholarships. I tried and that's what an admissions officer told me. Sad face

You'll have zero leverage at that point unless you threaten to withdraw and are willing to follow through on it. Even then, I don't see them budging much.rfar1815 wrote:Nooooo Maybe they'll consider later in the cycle? Also wonder how they view a June LSAT. Well yes, that would be the plan. I had read a thread where someone had a lot of success with that strategy, granted they were not at Vanderbilt.shntn wrote:You'll have zero leverage at that point unless you threaten to withdraw and are willing to follow through on it. I had some leverage, but I'm sure others have more. There answer wasn't about me though, she said vanderbilt's policy is to not negotiate scholarships and she wrote a paragraph explaining why. I don't want to stop anyone from trying, just saying not to get your hopes up.

Got the snail mail today. Waitlisted. Anyone have any idea how many people they generally admit off their waitlist or how large their waitlist normally is?gatorfan163287 wrote:Decision 3/1 but no box yet. 3.67/165 /cry

Application received: 1/29
Application Complete: 1/31
Decision Mailed 3/6
168/3.55.. Im actually panicking because I dont know what to do. I just went home for spring break. If it is a waitlist/ding it wont matter but if it is Fedex, I might be screwed. I dont even know if my roommates are still up there. I wonder if I should call the school to let them know?

Re: Vanderbilt c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 Cycle)
Got my scholarship letter today, so you other post scholly wave admits should expect yours a few days after the black box. 20k/year is definitely a decent offer, but UT is still cheaper by a decent margin with 12k/year + instate. It really looks like going back that Vandy has stuck pretty firm on not negotiating in the past. Hopefully this prediction will turn out to be true.
