if you have a fee waiver, i really don't understand why you're not throwing your hat in the ring.

I still have to pay for the LSAC fee for the schools, so it's not totally free and it adds up.

i know that, but $20 is not a huge amount of money for the chance (albeit small chance) of getting in

$21 actually. If you're pinching pennies, that $1 may matter 8)

I'd try. I had to deal with those LSAC fees too, and they sucked, but it might be worth it in the end. I think Yale really does take a holistic approach, so it's worth it if you have strong softs. Someone got in with a 166 already.

167, 3.78, URM (PR), pretty good soft factors, fee waiver (but I don't think that matters).

Any advice would be appreciated.
From what I've heard, URM's have a pretty unpredictable cycle. I would definitely go for it if I were you, if nothing else to know you tried. URM's have gotten in with below your scores, and its a down cycle in terms of applicants

I think this is the week I finish my 250! I said that last week and the week before, but this time it's different.

I said that about yesterday! And then... I wound up with 277 words. This 250 is harder than a 1000-word essay...

Yes, yes it is. Also, your effort is now my motivation to finish this task. Thank you!

Just finished my 250 and got everything in, joining the wait circle. I really want to do an SC clerkship after law school, so here's to hope.

finally submitted my app after struggling to write the 250 word essay. seems to be a common theme on this thread. here's to hoping for that holistic review process! i visited a friend at YLS a few months ago and it seems like an absolutely wonderful place. i couldn't believe how friendly and approachable everyone was given the amount of brute intellectual force that exists within the confines of the gorgeous law school building.

Haha. Except jselson's is at least somewhat doable, although marginally. The lunar program's been discontinued.

After investing multiple hours into analyzing every facet of this thread and the credentials of those who have been admitted, I'm thrilled to say I'm in at Yale as of 3:30 p.m. EST.

Since hdivine has probably realized now that there are better things to do than flip through TLS, and I haven't:

From the "Full-rides you'd turn down HYS-sticker for" thread.

Congrats, man! Guess you didn't need those softs after all.

Ha. I'm going to start retreating from TLS, but I don't want to do so too quickly, lest I risk withdrawal.
Submit date: 11-1
Complete: 11-7
LSAT: 177
GPA: 3.98
Undergrad: Not even in the top 500. I guess it didn't matter.

Congrats! And these schools need some undergrad diversity, so I'm glad you're in!

The wait continues for the rest of us :)

My guess is Sabanist goes to Auburn. Just a guess

And outside the top 500? that really peaks my curiosity as to where you went to.

The fact that Sabanist got a 177 makes it highly unlikely he went to Alabama. Zing
She, and one of my classmates just got into Berkeley, so I'm not the only one who did okay

Really though, I was starting to lose hope, thinking it would be a class full of Ivies and/or flawless softs. This is exciting.
